Rumor has it Drew Henson will end up with the Jets (1 Viewer)

He really mentioned it quickly and in passing at the end of his segment, but pretty clearly stated "Oh, and Drew Henson should be a Jet faily soon."

Now, whether this means the Jets are trading to Dallas for him (and for what?) or they're going to pursue him off waivers, I don't know.

But I did think it was an interesting twist considering the presence of Ramsey and Clemens on the roster already, as well as Bollinger struggling to keep his head above water.

FWIW. :bag:

This makes zero sense to me for the reasons you stated, UM. Look at their QB options:Pennington - established starter with successful record; big injury concerns; Ramsey - occasional starter with his ups and downs; probably still a decent to good QB prospect; Bollinger - likely a career backup with modest talent but who nevertheless led the team through tough times well last year; Clemens - a good looking prospect who needs some time on the roster to develop; possibly heir apparentTo me, the only decision to be made here is whether to keep Ramsey or Bollinger at the primary backup. Unless there's something I don't know about Pennington's arm and his recovery, both he and Clemons are the two guys who we know will be on that roster. Clemens as a rookie isn't a good QB2 option, so Bollinger's and Ramsey's experience seem to make sense in that role. Where does Hensen fit in?

My guess is that they are trading a QB for Henson, if this has any truth to it at all. Don't know if it would be Ramsey or Bollinger, I could see arguments made for either.

Based upon how down the Dallas brass is on Henson, Bollinger is the only guy who could be feasibly traded straight up for Henson.

I heard that, and to be honest, I thought Mort was just trying to get a rise out of Greenberg since he is such a huge Jets fan. Greenberg was in the middle of saying something and Mort slipped it in. I don't think either Mike actually heard him.

I'd bet if it's a trade it's for an undisclosed draft pick and contingent on him making the team. I don't think he will. However, it's not surprising another team wants to take a look at him.

I think the Boys did that with the Saints recently and some backup LBer

BTW I thought Henson was cut recently

Good point. I struggle to see how anyone would trade for Henson. First, he's shown nothing to make one think he can be a legitimate NFL QB. Second, Dallas has already said he won't be on the roster this season. So in the unlikely event there was actually still a GM that was high on Henson, why would he even give up anything in a trade for DH when he could simply pick him up off the trash heap? Let's be serious, will there really be a rush to claim this guy if he's cut? I don't think so.

He doesn't. They like Clemens and will keep Ramsey as the #2/3. No room for Henson.
