Rumor-Troupe to be traded (1 Viewer)

To follow this up

He's had an ankle sprain that's kept him out too long. Either Fisher thinks he's a wimp or he's just taking too long to come back from it and that's annoying the team.

I'll google. You guys never like "heresay" here

yeah that was hard to findhttp://www.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/ar.../708250375/1027

Troupe update: Tight end Ben Troupe didn't make the trip to Buffalo, but the Titans and Troupe have downplayed the right foot injury that's kept him out of the first three preseason games.

"It is more like a sprain. Nothing is broken,'' Troupe said. "It's just a lingering thing.''

Prior to the injury, Troupe had fallen behind Scaife. With Ben Hartsock also on the roster, Troupe may become trade bait.

ETA

There is something with the injury bugging them, make of it what you will

FWIW RUMOR is Troupe will be traded soon.
thoughts on where?
No clueThey play Green Bay next week I think. I'm not a Franks fan so I'd probably think most would be better there.
From the article, "But Fisher said the Titans are more interested in getting Troupe back on the field in time to play in Thursday's preseason finale against Green Bay at LP Field."Maybe they want to showcase him to GB. FWIW Bubba Franks has looked much better this year so far.

Buffalo, Green Bay, Miami all seem like plausible destinations. As a Troupe owner, Cincinnati is intriguing (Yeah, I know they don't throw much to TEs, but they could start).

That would be a nice boost for Scaife's value.
Yes, but I can't see it happening. Troupe hasn't performed up to his potential, but I have a hard time seeing the Titans give up on him when their offense needs a playmaker like he can be.

Troupe would be a huge upgrade at TE for the Packers.Which likely means Ted Thompson won't pursue him.
How so?He has shown in his time in Tennessee that he first could not learn the plays (his rookie year) and then could not stay healthy (every other year). He has been a huge disappointment.

The Packers' TEs are pretty worthless. I agree Troupe hasn't lived up to expectations but he is talented and - in my opinion - considerably more talented than any TE on the Green Bay roster. I'd be willing to throw a late draft pick at the Titans to see if he could deliver more on his talent in Green Bay than he has thus far in Tennessee.

Lee and Bubba have had their moments. All of them were terrible last season, I will grant you that.Id rather see Clark Harris or Alcorn get a shot over spending anything on a guy like Troupe who does not know the system and is dinged up.Trust me...Im a Packer fan living in Nashville. I have seen Troupe "play" and he has done little to convince me that the Packers should spend anything on him.

That guy the Texans cut recently looked real good a preseason or two ago in GB. Could never quite figure out why they cut him. Steele I think was his name.

Fair enough. I think the Packers' TEs stink and I wouldn't have any problems throwing a late pick at the Titans to see if Troupe could bring more talent to the position.
