Rutgers New Release

Several of the players showed their speed in the 40-yard dash, led by McCourty’s 4.32. Underwood also put up stellar results with a 4.34 in the 40-yard dash. Britt finished with a strong 4.40 while Brock put together a strong run with a 4.65. Others who timed well included Malast with a 4.60 and Westerman’s 4.78.

Those are awful fast times for guys who really don't appear to have that kind of speed on the field. What were the conditions/surface?

FWIW, Tiquan Underwood is a sick athlete. He run in the 4.3's at the combine and also had a 40 inch vertical. So his balzing time at the pro day shouldnt surprise anyone. With regards to productivity, He had more than a 1000 yards as a Junior but regressed as a senior. Hes a definite sleeper on the second day. Cant speak for the other players...

Yeah, Underwood is the one guy that those numbers don't surprise me with and I agree he is a phenomenal athlete. But yeah, the other guys....?

Rutgers holds their Pro Day at their practice facility, which is an indoor bubble with a Field Turf surface.According to the scuttlebutt on the Rutgers fan boards, for whatever that is worth, Britt had been hitting this time throughout his pre-combine training, and was disappointed with his time at Indy. He weighed 210 today, so obviously he's lost some weight to improve on his time.Having said said, poking around on some other sites, it seems that several scouts were timing the players, and 4.40 was the lowest time recorded. Others had him timed a bit higher, but all under 4.5.
