B Ruud didn't light the world on fire with 3 solos and 5 assists, but did he show enough to keep gimpy Quarles on the sideline?

If not, who do you favor:

E Barton

B Scott

or a DB

T Holt

C Hope

Thanks and I'll answer yours, amigos!

LB Quarles Ready To Play?

Katherine Smith, Tampa Tribune - [Full Article]

Starting LB Shelton Quarles said he will be ready to play Sunday against Atlanta. Quarles missed Sunday's game against Baltimore. Barrett Ruud started in his place. Quarles was set to go, but a groin injury that had been bothering him, flared up during the pregame warm-ups.

"BUCS BITS: Starting MLB Shelton Quarles celebrated his 35th birthday Monday and said he will be ready to play against Atlanta."

I think that everyone in the free world is ready for Shelton Quarles to step aside for Barrett Ruud. He just turned 35 but he's coming off of the best season of his nine year career. Ruud has such limited experience but appears to be ready for the job. As a guess, I'd say the Quarles holds on this year but Ruud becomes the man to have in 2007.

I agree. Quarles isn't going anywhere unless the Bucs season looks as bleak midseason as it did yesterday morning. If the OP is in a dynasty league, the answer is none of the above. If not, any of the above are better options in a redraft league if your roster needs immediate help. I'd prefer Barton slightly over Hope but none are likely to be consistent every week starters in standard leagues.

What...EJ Henderson not good enough for you?

Thanks guys for the prompt response. I'm holding Quarles/Zach/MPete (amongst others) in a dynasty league, and I was hearing the Quarles is done talk again.

You don't think Hope is a consistant starter? I see him not getting many big plays but consistantly getting about 5 solo tackles a game. I could see him as a 2nd or 3rd DB.

You may be right. I'm not a big Hope fan and I'm having trouble thinking he racks up tackles with Bulluck around, but you're right there really isn't much else in the secondary.

I think the Titans will be on defense most of the game, which always helps.

Don't hit the panic button yet on Quarles, he will lose a step eventually but untill he does he is the man in Tampa. IMO Ruud is all hype or at best adequate
