Ryan Torain - Post Injury (1 Viewer)

We all know that Ryan Torain will miss the remainder of the season with a torn ACL, but what is his value in keeper leagues now? The only game that we really have to go on is the one he was injured in against the Browns. I liked what I saw out of him, but it was such a small sample. He has had a hard time staying healthy, even in college where he dealt with a Lisfranc sprain. Skeletor loves giving fantasy players nightmares so another year of RB musical chairs is highly possible. Does he have a chance to start next year?

A chance to start? Yes. Likely? Not at all. Started the season and was injured. Played part of a game and then got injured again for the remainder of the season. Heck, he will be pushing to get healthy by the start of next year as it is right now. Mike is not looking all that likely to be there next year himself and that just means a new leadership with their own ideas and players. Just too many variables for me to think he has much, if any, value going forward.

 Did I miss a memo?

 I don't think Mike is going anywhere.

I'm guessing that Torain's chance came and went. It's not like he was a highly drafted guy in which the team has a lot of commitment, and with Shanahan's history, if you don't succeed right away, it's generally on to the next victim.

Well, I'm not gonna cut him in dynasty yet, wait and see how it looks in camp. I'd say 15-20% chance he starts Week 1.

Given the outcomes of ACL surgery these days, I believe there's a good chance Torain will be Denver's starting RB in '09. We'll know more after the rookie draft, & if they sign a RB in FA.

Think about it this way. You are the Broncos organization and you know all about his injury history. How could you possibly go into a season trusting him as your starting RB?

I think the chances of him getting cut before next year are 2-3 times greater than starting.

I had Torain in 2 leagues and traded him for a 2nd rd rookie pick in both dynasty leagues.

Lol, given shanny's history even if you do succeed right away, it's generally on to the next victim. Your job is never really safe as a Denver RB.
