Ryans-Williams (1 Viewer)

So I decided to make the late road trip to Houston for the Dolphins v. Texans game. First, I have to give McNair props. Reliant is a sick, sick, sick facility. The weather in Houston is still horrific but that is an amazing stadium.

Ryans is a (blanking) beast. Seriously, the kid is crazy good in person. If there is any way possible you can trade for him, then do so. Even if you have to overpay to get him in an IDP dynasty, do it. Keep it within reason but go get him.

Ryans was glossed and pimped very hard on the boards post draft so...you were warned. You should have drafted him late 2nd and or early 3rd but, if you did not, lesson learned. Track him down, while he is on bye, and pay closer attention next year. That is said tongue in cheek so no offense intended. Just be sure to check back in around March or April next year.

Ryans is better than advertised.

I am going to do what I can to go get M. Williams on the cheap this week. I liked what I saw in person. People can rag on the kid for his alleged disinterest and known lack of productivity in the NFL but a few things.

The Phins did their best to stay and or run away from Williams. They did their best to suck him in and past the pocket on passing downs. For a rookie who is already a blown draft pick I noticed the Phins paying awfully close attention to the kid...a lot.

Speaking of kid, Williams is just that. You think he is feeling a little pressure right now? My feeling is that he will come around.

He had 1.5 sacks on two successive plays. He nearly had a swat-sack-fumble-safety and or touchdown on the third play in that same series. He did enough damage that the Phins punted. The light will start coming on for him.

He got chipped and some double teams. That is interesting for a player that some feel should return his signing bonus after 4 weeks.

I do not own Williams in any leagues. I watched him all game with an objective eye. My feeling is that he is currently undervalued and I plan on making a run for him in all leagues.

Ryans in redraft...play him every week.

Ryans in dynasty...trade for him NOW. Take the bird in hand. Dump a veteran and a late rookie pick next year.

Williams in redraft...you'll either win or lose a few because of him.

Williams in dynasty...go buy on the cheap.

Nice post, WD.

I don't disagree with your stance on Williams but I think the Dolphins paid as much attention to Williams because the Texans don't have anything at the other end worthy of concern. Certainly doesn't hurt Williams' long term value though. At some point, you'd think the Texans improve the rest of the line.

Any thoughts on Greenwood or the safety corps?

Ryans was probably the reason the front 4 did so well yesterday. He got sent on a few early blitzes and, if C'Pep was not so damn big, Ryans would have had a pair of early sacks. The middle of the Phins line is B-A-D. Their OL, as a whole, is below average but they are very bad up the middle. Ryans set the tempo and got inside C'Pep's head and, well, that was the ball game. It started to loosen the ends. Then, the OL was grab bagging...guessing... and C'Pep was really confused. Ball game. Speaking of C'Pep, I'd say he is on his last legs as an NFL QB. Games in person, as opposed to the TV, are very different. You can see EVERYTHING. C'Pep is far too slow to read, react and deliver the football. That along with a bad OL is a recipe for disaster. Don't let the score or stats full you. Kubiak got cute with play calling and stopped the clock with a few incompletions late. He did not run clock. C'Pep got some junk yardage. Most of it was... The result of horrific S play. Guilty at each position. Those guys are just not very good. Easily fooled and easier to beat. In theory C'Pep should have thrashed those guys yesterday. They are bad. I did not pay any attention to Greenwood.
