I like the current Saints better, just because they are such a feel good story. Good luck to you guys, I'm rooting for your Saints to represent the NFC this year.

I dont know if this was posted before, but who's the better team 87 Saints or current Saints? Just curious
The saints had a team in 87. Well i would have to say 87 saints would probably be better. I mean this years team only has 53. But could some of those guys from this year play as part of the 87? Like deuce would play offense for both teams. Wait...did you mean the 1987 saints? They had a team then? Thats just crazy. I figured seeing as this is their first home playoff game in the divisional round, they must only be 6-7 years old.Just givin you some #### buddy. I like the Saints, I hope they win. I just think you might be a tad overexcited. But what do I know I grew up with the 49ers in the 80s and then moved to wisconsin in 91. I only knew losing football last year.

If they win, this weekend then the Today's Saints. 87 saints got blown out by the vikings unfortunately.

I've always liked the Saints. When I went to a Steelers/Jets game at the Meadowlands back in the late 80s/early 90s, there were so many Steeler fans there that the concession stands sold out of Pittsburgh gear. The stands actually pulled out leftover Saints stuff that I guess didn't sell earlier in the year when New Orleans was in town and started selling it to Steeler fans, since the colors were similar enough, I suppose, to show your support for the Black & Gold.

The '92 Saints > '87 Saints
The hypothetical '90 Saints with Bobby Hebert not holding out >>>> '92 Saints >> '87 Saints  (Still PO'd about Finks stonewalling Hebert and forcing us into a season of Steve Walsh)

Well the Panthers didn't make it, so I will pull for the Saints. Their fans are the most deserving, plus you gotta figure they will throw the best parties if they win the Superbowl. :tinfoilhat:

The 87 season was my second year with season tickets. The relief of everyone in that stadium that year was unbelievable. The dome was amped for the playoff game and we KNEW we would crush the Vikes. I mean we were so close to overtaking the 49ers that year and getting the bye. AND BY HALFTIME WE ALL KNEW THE DREAM WAS GONE. but it was still cool being that it was the first playoff game in 20 years.

The defense for the 87 Saints puts them over the top - 'Toast' Toi Cook and Dave Waymer patrolling the secondary while the LBs blitzed and stuffed and the run. I miss that run through the early 90s

The Brooks era was intolerable for non-fans to like the team. I briefly watched them when my man Rufus Porter went there but they were unassuming for the most part. I had my own mediocre at best Seahawks to love anyways. Once Brooks got in there, forget about it. Garbage. I loved the 2 or 3 years we got to play them and start off on a winning note. Including the Hamlin hammering of Stallworth in one of my favorite hits of all time. A great photo of Stallworth's body stopped while the skin on his face was still moving forward. But as a SoCal-er and a Charger fan (close 2nd to my Hawks) I followed Brees and Bush there and have had a great time watching them turn the season around. Hell, any fan of offensive football enjoyed most of their games. On top of that I can't stand any other NFCS teams. So I'm here on the bandwagon, riding the two Bs into the playoffs. And unless all the stars align and we beat Chicago, I'll be pulling for the Saints (Aints no more!) to go to the Big Dance. It would be interesting to see a Brees vs SD superbowl.

So anyways, it's been a great run and even a loss this week or next still makes for a phenomenal season and great story for NO. And with the youngsters they have and an innovative coach they should be entertaining for a while.

Forgot, Colston helped me rock in FF too so good feelings all over.
