New Orleans RB Pierre Thomas (wrist) was listed as limited in practice on Wednesday as the team prepares for its Week 13 game at Washington. Thomas rushed 11 times for 64 yards with a long of 26 yards in the Week 12 win over New England.

(Updated 12/02/2009).

New Orleans RB Mike Bell (neck, knee) was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday as the team prepares for its Week 13 game at Washington. Bell rushed 13 times for 50 yards Week 12 against New England.

(Updated 12/02/2009).

Both from CBS. What is going to happen in Washington this weekend? Anyone have any insights?

ETA talking about the NO@WSH game, not a strange non-sequitor into the Redskins

I am thinking Lynell Hamilton just may surface before the end of the season with value afterall. Given all 3 backs seem to get dinged with just a partial load he just may be a deep sleeper to roster now...

There is precedent for Payton resting dinged-up starters against "weaker" opponents (S Darren Sharper against STL, DT Sedrick Ellis against TB). It's possible that Hamilton gets starter-level work against the Redskins. I'd think Bell is the one the Saints would hold back, as he has a banged-up knee (vs. Thomas' wrist).

I wouldn't be surprised if Bush sat out another game. The Saints don't appear to be in any rush to bring him back. I think they're looking big picture with him and want him healthy for the playoffs.

My money is on PT getting a lion's share of the touches this week.
How bout a split with Bell so both can rest at times as they make their stretch run?
this is a more accurate representation of what we can expect (why change a winning formula while keeping two backs relatively fresh?!). i for one hope that bush sits in order to completely heal his knee which will translate into more opportunities for bell and PT

He's gonna have to play at some point to avoid "rust." (Bush owner)

Posted at 3:58 PM ET, 12/ 3/2009Haynesworth is likely to be available Sunday

Defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth continued to participate in practice and is on track to return to the lineup Sunday against the New Orleans Saints at FedEx Field, Coach Jim Zorn said today after practice.

Haynesworth, who sat out the last two games because of an ankle injury, "looked quick at some points, but there's a fine line," Zorn said. "If he works hard right now, I don't want him to re-injure it. We're just injecting him [slowly into practice], and he looks like he's going to be available. That's for sure."

On Wednesday, cornerback DeAngelo Hall (knee) all but ruled himself out of the game, but the Redskins remain hopeful about having him on the active roster. "DeAngelo did a lot of footwork drills but did not participate in practice," Zorn said. "He was just off to the side working with the trainers, trying to get any kind of stability or lateral movement. I think he's doubtful."

Fullback Mike Sellers's ankle stiffened during morning work, so he did little during practice in the afternoon. Nickel corner Justin Tryon (hip) was limited "but I think he'll be ready to play," Zorn said.
