The Reggie Bush signing certainly helped, but the team had previously announced that it was already on record pace before the draft. I'd like to see more than 81 suites sold, but many of our largest corporate sponsors (Shell, Entergy, etc.) just returned this summer and hopefully that pace will increase. As a side note 81 suites is more than 2x as many as the Alamodome even has (
). So, 54,969 tickets and 81 suites is great news for a beleagured, much criticized city and fan base and there is still 4 months before the start of the season.
I also know the Los Angeles talk will pop up, but do you think LA would support a team like this coming off of a 3-13 season?

Saints sell record number of ticketsWednesday, 2:20 p.m.By Mike TriplettStaff writerThe Saints have set a record for season-ticket sales with 54,969, the team announced Wednesday.Tickets remain in all seating areas of the stadium, except for the club level. There have been 81 suites sold out of 137 available. The increased ticket sales has been spurred on by the excitement of adding quarterback Drew Brees and running back Reggie Bush and the hiring of coach Sean Payton, as well as the team returning to the Superdome after last season."Obviously the things that have happened in the offseason have helped fuel this," said Saints Vice President of Marketing and Business Development Ben Hales. "We've still got a lot of work to do, but we've got a lot to offer."The previous record was 53,728 set in 2003.
