Saints v. Chargers, 8/27 Preseason #3 (1 Viewer)

Nice D by the Chargers!!

I own;

Rivers, Floyd, Gates, and Weddle.

If this were regular season i would be very happy with my fantasy football team so far!

UH, Rivers forcing into double coverage on 3rd and 5 to Gates, because...

No VJAX. This indeed changes things. C'mon Floyd, step up. Please.

floyd rolled over on his head for that one catch. Didnt like the trainer looking at him while he was rolling his neck around.

whewwww.. Matthews just took on 2 saints and bounced off.. went back for more.. nice tough running after the catch

took this guy 2.1 in 12 team dynasty.. over Turner. Liking what i see

Don't get cute when you are trying to impress the coaches. Unless your name is Hester or Neon, DON'T RUN BACKWARDS!!!

Reactions...

Floyd looks pretty good. He's been hyped for a couple years now @ 6'5''. Might be his year.

Gates will probably get even more targets as long as VJAX is out

Matthews looks legit. Not freaky talented like CJ2K, but legit, total RB. Draft away!!!

Brees is still brees.

R. Bush should be listed as WR.

Prediction: no one player gets more than 65 rec. in NO. And Brees throws for 5,000 yds.

This thread is terrible. All it is "yea nice move good run nice catch" Any good info for guys who don't have the game? Lookig for vision, cuts, pass protection, hands, routes running....

R Math...?Made the turn on an NFL LB and the guy didn't expect it... thought he had the angle on him.
Two flukey TD's. Blown coverage by SD on Floyd. He was WIDE open. But he has made some catches and takes contact well.If you've been reading, Matthews has multiple tools. Not afraid of contact, cuts well enough, great burst. Great all-around back.NO Def. still ball hawking. Several missed INT's by inches.Otherwise it kind of looks like SD/NO like you would imagine it over the last couple years, honestly.

Anyone else concerned that Mathews run maybe too aggressively? I am worried that as a rookie he might not hold up the whole season.

But man - he does run angry.

Matthews has shown some great burst. The Chargers o-line has not been dominant (not that they were expected to) but he's shown some quicks and ability to break tackles.Gates is getting lots of love and has looked good after the catch. Breaking tackles, spinning and stretching for extra yards.Brees and Rivers...are considered two of the best for a reason. They look as great as they always do.Reggie Bush has caught a lot of passes but imo has looked like crap. I was starting to move him onto my list of potential sleeper/value pick but he's now moved off my list entirely. He just doesn't look that good. On the plus side of things he's still getting passes thrown his way...

Cason was in position and had ball in his grasp before was knocked out.. popped up and he fell.. lucky bounce there but good coverage.
nice 3rd down conversion on 3rd and 14 .. Rivers to Floyd

Saints are really coming. Bltizing quite a bitFloyd wide open.. nice TD
Apparently not specific enough. Go to a bar and watch the game for play-by-play.

If you're looking for in-depth analysis why don't you take the 90 seconds to find a live stream of the game?Or you can continue to pout.

Dierdorf loves Legadu Nanaae (sp?)

"All he does is make plays."

Yep. That's why their called 'players'. If they baked bread, they'd be called 'bakers'.

Great analysis.

He'll learn when to lower the pads and when to run OB after a while in the league.
Hopefully but I love the willingness of Norv/Rivers to get him involved in the passing game. I was hesitant to believe Norv when he said he'd like Matthews to catch 40 balls. Does appear though that Matthews only has one speed.. high energy and straight ahead.. disregarding anyone in his path.

He's taken on several saints tonight.. from DB to LB. That dump off to the right he exploded quickly but instead of trying to avoid the contact went right at the DB. Guess its in my mind I'd like him to go down easier esp. in the pre season but i love how hard he's running and he seems to have good enough hands, awareness, and burst to get the yards he needs after the catch or in spot where he needs to turn on the jets for positive yards.

Water under the bridge. BTW I'm new to the site and have never really used any message boards. Don't know the expectations.
