Saito hurt? (1 Viewer)

Just saw in the game recap that Beimel got the save, then I saw that Saito came out with an injury. Anybody have anything more on it that was watching the game? Broxton is rostered already in most leagues unfortunately, especially for those of us who have Saito and not JB. :P

Per Rotoworld...

The Dodgers believe Takashi Saito is day-to-day with a left hamstring injury sustained in the ninth inning Sunday.

"He's mature enough to let us know as soon as something like that happens," manager Grady Little said. "I don't know how serious it is, but we feel like he informed us in time (to prevent a severe injury). We'll look at it tomorrow and see how it is, but it's a plus he told us that quickly." Jonathan Broxton still might be the better bet for saves this week.

I'm not a rotisserie player, but I do follow the Dodgers. I too would expect Broxton to be the closer until Saito returns.

I was watching the game. Saito really didn't react much at all, he simply walked to the back of the mound after the pitch. He didn't even really pull up gimpy. I'm hoping he felt a twinge and they simply stopped him before any more happened. I'm figuring it's not all that serious. He was certainly throwing effectively until that point.

Unbelievable - Saito looked so good I dropped Broxton to play the WW last week! Hope its not serious as Saito has been on fire!

I have a feeling it's not that bad. I'm not even bothering to handcuff Broxton (got Kouzmanoff instead), opting to roll with Cordero and Hennessey until Saito gets back.

Saito and Cordero. 0 blown saves all year. :bowtie:

Sportingnews update:

June 4, 2007 - 8:30 p.m.

Saito has tightness in his left hamstring and may miss a three-game series in San Diego that starts Tuesday night. Manager Grady Little expects Saito to be sidelined for two to three days "in a best-case scenario."
