Hope this isn't a :honda:.
The whole Chad saga got me thinking. Basically to my mind it seems ridiculous for the Bengals to trade him because the accelerated signing bonus means that they'd take an $8m or so dead money hit on their cap this year. My question is what if as part of the trade Chad paid back some of that bonus to the Bengals (in the context of getting a new deal with a new team - i.e. he doesn't actually lose any actual $) - is it possible for this to occur and have the Bengals thus lower the cap hit that they would take? Just wondering. Any capologist out there?
