Can this guy stay healthy this year? i hope soit seems like that vike Lbs are usually not good fanasy players anyone think he can be a top 15 LB this year.im thinking of trading him away while he is healthy and starting.i was offerd the 8th pick in rookie draft.

i was offerd the 8th pick in rookie draft.
I'd jump at that. That having been said, I still do think Cowart could be really something this year.
Be very, very careful. I have seen it written and I have thought it all along, Cowart does not start for the Vikes. Remember, they gave a conditional 7th for a player on the downside of his career. It Thomas, Henderson and Harris can play smarter, I believe they will start. I have also seen that Cowart may be a WLB for this team and we all know how that failed in NY.

Not saying I am right, I just would not want him this year.

I can add Cowart as a free agent and will probably not.Tice hasn't announced his lineup yet and I think EJ Henderson still has a shot at starting.I don't have a strong feeling about Cowart.

I'm pretty sure Cowart will start. He is there to show Henderson how to be an MLB. If Henderson is a fast learner, which so far he has proven not to be, he might be starting in place of Cowart before the year is out. Minny went out and signed a lot of talent on D. They need a defensive QB to be in there to lead them, until they come together as a unit. Cowart is the generic prescription filler for that job.

There is no chance of Cowart not starting. He is only 29 years old and was playing just fine in NY, but they drafted a great rookie and let cowart go because of that. EJ Henderson blows. The LB corps in Minnesota is Harris, Cowart and Thomas. Without a doubt.

Some of you guys are kidding, right? When healthy Cowart is one of the finest LBs in the league. Henderson can't carry his water. The only thing that stops Cowart is that he hurts himself playing with reckless abandon. If he can stay on the field, he's MIN's MLB, their leader, their heart, & their leading tackler by a significant margin.

WHen Cowart was healthy he was a great inside LB next to Holecek. However, how long has Holecek been gone?Just because Cowart threw up decent numbers miscast as a WLB in NY does not mean he is a good LB. He was traded for a conditional 7th round pick. He never regained his speed after the achilles injury. Do not confuse fantasy performance and NFL performance. If he was that good the Jets would not have signed Eric Barton to a deal 2 yrs ago.

Culpepper might argue the heart part and as far as being the leading tackler, one cannot confuse high tackle numbers with being a quality MLB, just ask Earl Holmes.Tom

Yeah, who needs a MLB that posts 120+ tackle seasons if he stays healthy? With the exception of his first year, he's done that in every season that he's played at least 12 games. If he stays healthy - and that is a legit concern - he'll finish top 10 in tackles this year. The guy has a nose for the ball.

Correct me if I am wrong but I am not sure he has ever played MLB for a season. He might have one under his belt but he was a insidle LB in BUFF and a WLB in NY. Marvin Jones was the middle and he had over 100 tackles every year too.Alot of tackles does not mean you are a great player. The Jets have had very generous scoring for years and judging by Vilma's/Barton's numbers last year it will remain that way.

As far as staying healthy, well if he was healthy he would have been a great one. However I would also guess that is the reason why they got what they did for him.

Sam Cowart jersey. Anyone know where to get one? I've looked EVERYWHERE and can't seem to find a Viking Cowart jersey. Can anyone help?GM

I will admit to only have seen Cowert play a handful of times and just paid attention to his fantasy stats, BUT as a Vikings fan I have seen EJ play possibly every down in the NFL. He is fast and a solid tackler, but is frequently caught out of position and horrid on coverage. Cowert has been calling hte defensive plays and there is no doubt in my mind he will be the starter all season barring injury. With that said, I think EJ will benifit from seeing someone like Sam and has the potential to be a solid MLB.Edited for stupid language stuff
