I think it’s Perrine in all formats other than dynasty. Perrine could be the next Damien Williams in this offense once he learns the playbook.

I'll gladly come and eat crow if I'm wrong but this should be Steele and its not close. Reid trusted Steele with the game on the line and he got 7 carries to 0 for Perine. Perine has been in the league for what 5-6 years? I'm not buying they didn't use him because he's only been on the team for a few weeks. If he can't handle a few runs after being in the league that long he has no business playing in the NFL. Steele got the carries because he's the far better RB...he can move the pile and runs with intensity Perine has never shown.

Don't be hasty. The Chiefs will make some moves in the aftermath, probably before, or shortly after everyone's waiver period takes place.

There is not a single RB on the Chiefs roster right now that can approximate anything close to a full-strength Pacheco.

Spending valuable FAAB $ on part-time players is not a winning strategy, IMHO.

This backfield is not yet determined, and most likely will wind up resulting in a complete committee moving forward.

Let others waste their FAAB $, overspending while their accounts are flush, and wait for better opportunities down the road, when a large bankroll matters more.

It's only Week 2. They will come.

This was my initial thought. Samaje has zero carries on the season. I would imagine you would give the guy you're giving the 2nd most carries the majority of the carries before you'd give the majority of carries to the guy who you've given zero carries to all year.


In zero instances was he their preferred first, second down option. CEH complicates things and if they pickup Prince I will find room for him too. Seems like Steele was brought in for exactly this situation and has more reps running the first team offense.

That’s true but you have to account that he was only on the team for a week before week 1. Don’t be surprised if they trust Perrine more than Steele after the Pacheco injury

They had a plan for him after only being on the team for a week in week 1. I could be wrong but I think it’s highly probable that Perrine is the back to own ros

I think in PPR or Half-PPR, they're both flex-at-best types. Steele is the guy if you need TDs, Perine will get the receptions and 3rd down usage.

Did they trust him with the game on the line? I didn't get to watch every minute of the game but I did see Steele's fumble and saw him jogging to the sideline in tears. The guy looks like a really solid short yardage back, but he's green and doesn't look ready for primetime.

i'm not sure if injuries are worse this year than in general or just to my FF, but I went into the season with Kenneth Walker, Pachecho, Perine and Steele. So I'm playing a KC RB until something else happens... low value or not

I don't think the KC backfield is the going to be the place to replace Pacheco's points....

you will never feel great about starting any of them....you may strike gold one week with a couple of TD's but then stare at donuts for the other weeks...15 will have the ball in his hands a lot....maybe some extra checkdowns designed to basically be running plays....few more sweeps to worthy maybe....Steele may get a handful of carries and goa line love....CEH is the x factor here....

Pass Pro is uber priority #1, which favors Perine, perhaps significantly, but not absolutely. If Man of Steele can figure that part out, his upside is higher than even Pacheco's in this offense.

Yeah, I said it. But why? While a very unheralded rookie - like Pacheco was himself - Steele has much better vision, notably more power/size, and better hands. He doesn't have the same burst/speed, but he has more than enough given his size and other attributes.

But all of the above is trumped by Pass Pro. If they don't trust Steele to protect the Billion-Dollar Man, then Perine all the way, because he can do that. And perhaps a ton more if given lion's oppurtunties to run and catch the ball in this offense.
