Samsung Gear VR or Generic? (1 Viewer)

Much difference between the two? I'm not planning on dropping over $100, and there are plenty of options out there in the $20-40 range. Does more have to do with the app your using and how the content is shot? I've downloaded Google Cardboard and the PH app. It was alright, but nothing out of this world. 

I'm sure there are FBG's in the know...
