Ministry of Pain

Footballguy
Good Afternoon and an early Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you wherever you are running around last minute trying to get things set up for the holiday weekend. I know you got family flying in or coming over and let's face it you might be a little short on time so i want to focus in the game threads in assisting however I can.

-The MoP House is making German spritz cookies tonight and also laying the ground work for a special 3-Cheese Mac with white cheddar, gruyere and fontina, panko breadcrumbs on top, the secret ingredient is a dash of cayenne pepper in the initial roux add just a little back heat that really sets it apart from that kiddie crap everyone makes, this is not for children.

I am very interested in this game tonight but scared to play certain players and then have to look at an empty hole on my roster all weekend.

Jeff WIlson, Deebo and Aiyuk...anyone want to take a stab at projections here? The Titans know they are going to be limited on offense, they put up 13 on the Steelers last week and they were not a great defense. Wilson finally had a solid outing last week vs Atlanta, the titans run defense is not that soft, this isn't.a great match up if they cannot establish the passing game with Deebo and Aiyuk. I think the Titans will key in on Kittle and force the Niners to beat them in other ways.

D'Onta Foreman, another back up RB has been doing OK for the Titans, there is a definite ceiling with him at RB. Still he has had a couple nice weeks and on a short turnaround at home, would think TN would want to lean on him if they can. The WRs are a mystery for the Titans, you can't trust Julio even if he is playing and AJB is just coming off IR and you have no idea what to expect.

Go! 🎄

🎄 semifinal week 🎄

Adult Mac & Cheese sounds awesome.

I think you play Wilson and of course Deebo/Kittle, but I don't feel as confident as vs Atlanta's soft defense. Jimmy Grapes is playable moreso than Tannehill I think.

Playing Foreman is going to be tough with LG/LT both out, but a starting RB playing is worth something this week with people getting covid left and right. AJ Brown is playing as he is the man in the passing game.

SF wins a tough game 22-19.

I've enjoyed the Foreman ride but find him hard to trust tonight against a solid D and with the OL weakened.  Perhaps it will come back to haunt me...

Excited for the SF defense though tonight to feast.

No, KC defense has been pretty good lately.
Yeah I only ask bc they’re dealing with a Covid outbreak, so I’m a little worried they’ll be rusty bc they’re not allowed to fully practice.

And now Titans are having O-lineman go down so I see SF as maybe a tick above KC with all that in mind.

Odd to see a 9-5 home team be a 3 point dog vs an 8-6 road team.
Updated the thread title to reflect the proper record...this is a colossal game and I will have to flip around keeping folks happy with Xmas stuff but hopefully I can zero in on this football game tonight, might have to DVR it just to be safe.

Personally sitting Wilson, as I am not a fan of the West to East trip on a short week no less. And sitting Foreman with 3/5's of Titans' starting OL out. Sure I will regret one of them, but have some alternatives (as long as they don't go on the COVID list).

Would you play SF D over KC D?
I was considering the KC Defense quite honestly. This is a short week and the Titans got to stay home and lick their wounds after losing to the Steelers. I do think San Fran has a chance to win until I see how short the turn time is and the travel all the way across country tonight, seems like a tall task to hold back the Titans all night.

No Henry though and the Titans are a much different team, Vegas usually does things for a reason and would it shock anyone if San Fran walks in from the NFC West still in the thick of it for a Playoff spot and storms the building tonight? On the other hand they have almost no shot to win their Division or the 5-seed for that matter so they really just need to pace themselves and cruise into the 6-7 spot.

Chiefs host the Steelers who are likely to lose after they won last week, they're an 8-8-1 team the whole way, this week should be a loss and they will struggle to score 14-17 points so I could understand why you might go there. If Chris Jones is OUT again I would pass on the Cheifs.

Any other options on the waiver wire? Chargers?

@ConnSKINS26was in the Mitchell thread earlier and wanted to know more about Wilson tonight.

I'm with him, who is going to start Jeff Wilson and chase points vs the Falcons from last week? The Titans are not likely to allow Wilson to run all over them. I would assume they try and let Jimmy G beat them initially vs a slow n steady ground attack.

Wilson had many duds prior to last week and it is difficult to try and project his stats tonight. With Kittle, Deebo and Aiyuk plus Jennings, hard to see Wilson catching very many balls or even being asked to do a lot of that.

You might be on to something here

Yes.  But I see a blowout incoming.  San Fran is the scariest team in the league right now and legit SB contenders imo.  Just put $500 on them at 32 to 1 a few days ago.

And, half the titans o line is out.

Jeff Wilson is not in the Top 25 on many of the web sites out there and he's starting tonight?

-That is troublesome because I think he had like 18-20 last week

Wilson

Stevenson

Michel

Sanders

Mattison...he's starting apparently

and even vs guys like Aaron Jones who you have no clue and I'll add Zeke Elliot who seemed like he got lucky last week, he's not helping most who start him weekly.

One more thing that you might think about if you play in short roster leagues, if you are NOT playing Wilson tonight, you might consider cutting him close to kick off and pick up someone like Jackson from LAC to keep your options open going into Sat/Sun.

Would you go Wilson Jr vs TN or Carter Jr vs JAX?

i think Wilson gets more touches but Carter goes against a far worse defense.

Wilson is startable, call it rb 20. He’s not likely to match his output last week, but who is at rb2/flex?
Wilson is almost an auto start for some folks tonight because they are between a rock and a hard place but Wilson vs many of the RBs I mentioned or we can go up and down a long list. but many of the recent starters today look like better options perhaps.

Jackson for LAC assuming Ekeler is OUT?

Carter looked good vs Miami but they didn't stick with the run vs SF is committed to the run and I'll land the plane this way...

-This morning I had eggs n bacon, the chicken was involved but the pig was committed

I prefer Jackson yes.  He is closer to a rb1.
On your list I would play Mattison for sure and  Michel probably over him. Sanders I would but he hasn’t practiced yet so gulp.

Jackson is a no brainer over Wilson and owned in every league

I disagree. SF is a good, but not great team. They are SB contenders simply because there aren't any dominate teams this year. The Titans could easily win today. It really could go either way. I think both QBs get 3TDs.

Excellent player props but low rankings around the web again this week for Wilson.

These once-great threads by the Minister of Defense are turning into WDIS.  Bummer.

MOD, try and nudge them the other way in weeks ahead, please.  There is a forum here for novices who don't know who to start.

Thanks, and once again, great work (not your fault it's morphing).

Will not answer yours.

I don't have a good read tonight on who actually wins this, just gonna kick back and enjoy the game as it unfolds.

Should be a great game

Do think low scoring thought, would want the under if anything tonight.

San Fran 17...Tennessee 16

I think there is something to this. The Titans' rush D looks really stingy but in the mix seems like a lot of games with teams who were less committed than the pig.

…it’s a gameday thread. The game hasn’t started yet. What else is there to talk about before kickoff, it’s a fantasy site. I think if you’re looking for something like an in-depth breakdown of the Special Teams schemes of each team you’re probably in the wrong spot.

Bah Humbug to you as well.

Just got the first batch of spritz cookies out of the oven, these are good.

Should be a good game. Not starting anybody, so no rooting interest, really.

Sat Aiyuk tonight. Thought it would be the Deebo and Kittle show.

The SF player was actually down around the 2 yd line, maybe that's why the Niners might have been in a hurry and Wilson snags his 1st TD of the night, just 2/5 on the ground but don't think anybody is going to complain

Titans watching on that drive except for one beastly tackle by Cunningham to start. Really poor D that drive

Denico Autry ran down Aiyuk on that quick pass and ...ya gotta love a DL with wheels to do that

always surprised by the lack of awareness by some players...not realizing it's DUMB to actually catch some passes
