Couldn't just let him play out the season?
Josh McDaniels, how could anyone question his judgement?

I think Carr is being put on the shelf because Las Vegas has gotten a viable offer for him and they don't want to risk injury. I think McDaniels is one of the worst head coaches in the league.
I think Al Davis is spitting in his grave watching his son spin the wheels of his franchise. I think San Franciso will control this game from kickoff to final whistle...

I really am worried that CMC is only going to get 10-12 touches. Here’s hoping they are effective. Shanahan has hinted at being smart with him down the stretch. He also mentioned Bosa should win DPOY even if he sits the last two games.

They can coast to a victory here. The two seed matters but the 49ers may be careful.
 
McDaniels will be fired soon, bank on it. he's a dead man walking. This is similar to the crap that Ben McAdoo ( McCan't) did with the Giants when he benched Eli.

McD was peeved that Carr spoke about losing earlier in the year , he was really ripping the HC a new $$$ in that speech. team is lost.

Id love to see Jordan Mason get some work today but I have a feeling Shanahan is gonna keep his number of touches low. He just doesn't trust rookie RBs, no matter how good we think they look.

I'm betting we see a 60/40 split between CMC and TDP, and Mason will prob get 3-5 4th quarter carries.
 
DL Kerry Hyder Jr. and CB Ambry Thomas, both of whom were questionable with ankle injuries, will play for the 49ers today.

Purdy keeps rolling.

He just processes things so quick - reading the defense, going thru his progressions, evading pressure...and delivers.

What's not to love about this kid?
 
I'm good with the Niner D having an off day today. They've been dominant for 8 straight weeks...rather get a game like this out of their system now, get a little humbled, and refocus on winning the next 5 games.

Also, maybe we will see how Purdy handles some adversity.
 
Was listening to Lombardi on GM Shuffle podcast this week. Obviously still has connections to the club from his time there, and his son is on the coaching staff. He basically said that there was talks of being unsure about Carr ABOVE the coaching level before the season started and that in his opinion, the decision to bench him was not just McDaniels. Also felt that it was right to bench him citing general play and a bunch of stats that I can’t remember.

Interesting that Stidham has started really well.
 
Maybe Purdy will start throwing to CMC more considering he only has eyes for Kittle or Aiyuk in Redzone to try and pad the stats for a full time job.
