Santana Moss' return (2 Viewers)

He had a chance to go this week by running at practice on Friday. I would say this week is more 50-50. I expect to sit out of practice most of the week.

If he'd had a good pre-game workout, the word was that the coaches could have elected to play him, but they opted not too and to play it cautious. I'd expect that he'll be back next week against the Packers.

I heard he was interviewed after the game and said he could have played yesterday. So i also expect him back next week. Randle El was asked about his injury, and while he said this was his first hammy strain ever, he also believed he'd be back next week.

As of 3 days ago...

Santana Moss (groin, doubtful) ran sprints at full speed on the sideline during practice Friday, and has a chance to be active for Week 5.

"At this point it's feeling real good," Moss said. "I'm just happy to be at this stage. I did what I wanted to do." It is quite unlikely that Moss will be at full strength if he goes against Deroit, and he's no sure bet to make it through an entire game. If Moss is inactive, special teamer James Thrash will start.

Having said that, I think he'll be "probable" this week and barring a set back will play at GB. I think they'll continue to hold him from practice until late in the week because of Randel El's injury.

Here's more info on Moss, from Jason La Canfora's Washington Post blog:

Santana and Antwaan Feeling BetterHey there, working on the Monday Afternoon H-Back and will get it up soon. A lot of kudos to go around and also running around doing a ton of interviews out here all morning, so not able to sit down at the computer for more than 5 minutes at a time.Anyway, Santana (groin) said he feels great after working out hard yesterday in pregame warmups and then again running routes this morning. Very enthused. Said earlier in his career he may have pushed really hard to play against the Lions but his past injury history and his belief in his teammates prompted him to turn his attention to Green Bay.Moss said he plans to practice Wednesday and will just continue to do more day by day.
