Yep see BelowLet me know if you have any other requests.Anyone have a list of NFL players who haven't been arrested?
Looks like Pittsburgh finally got the replacement for Plaxico!![]()
All NFL contracts should have a no going to Florida clause written into them. It seems like an awful lot of the arrests are outside a club in Florida at 3am.
1985: 1 16 Jerry Rice1988: 1 11 Michael IrvinFirst round WRs are a risky proposition in today's NFL...
How many recent Super Bowl winners have one, and he was one of the primary reasons they won?
St. Louis Rams and..... ????
now the steelers can get a discount on their contract.
Young male, suddenly finding himself with a lot of fame, expecting cash, and no longer has to worry about his college coaches checking on him? Recipe for disaster if they lack discipline.anyone else getting sick of this crap? why cant these punks keep their #### in gear?

After reading MKB's post...kinda sounds like a lame charge, too.Nov. 16, 2003--At 3 a.m. after a win over Purdue and six days before the Michigan game, wide receiver Santonio Holmes and quarterback Troy Smith are charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct after a fight in a parking lot on campus. A window in a car is kicked out and one woman reported her jaw was broken. At least one other prominent Buckeye is at the scene, but is not charged. Holmes is held out of the starting lineup at Michigan but returns to play most of the game. Holmes also started in the Buckeyes' Fiesta Bowl game. He pleads innocent to the disorderly conduct after the team returns to Columbus. The disorderly conduct charge is dismissed against Holmes on March 30, 2004. Smith is found guilty of the charge.
uh-huhHolmes said last night that he was on his way from a bar/restaurant in Miami Beach early yesterday and stepped off the sidewalk to avoid a gathering of people. A police officer yelled at him, Holmes said. A report written by the arresting officer said Holmes was obstructing traffic. Holmes said he asked the officer why he yelled at him, and he was immediately placed under arrest.
It shows a pretty major stupidity gene to be acting like a clown before you've signed a million dollar deal.Disorderly Conduct is really minor, nothing to care about here.
Steelers top pick Holmes arrested
Miami police cite disorderly conduct
Sunday, May 28, 2006
By Gerry Dulac, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
Santonio Holmes, the Steelers' No. 1 draft choice, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct in the South Beach area of Miami Beach early yesterday morning, a charge his mother contends is a case of mistaken identity because she said her son is in Columbus, Ohio.
But, Miami Beach police spokesman Bobby Hernandez said it is no mistake. Holmes, a wide receiver from Ohio State and the 25th overall pick in the NFL draft, disrupted traffic and was verbally abusive to a police officer outside a South Beach hotel on Collins Avenue at 3:30 a.m.yesterday.
"We got a positive I.D.," Hernandez said.
Holmes was released from jail and did not have to post bail after signing a promissory note to appear in court when he is served a subpoena. Hernandez said police have to positively identify a person before they will release him on a promissory note. That is how they know the person they arrested was Holmes.
But Patricia Brown, Holmes' mother who lives in Belle Glade, Fla., said her son is in Columbus, where he is attending school, and has not been home since her May 5 birthday. Belle Glade is approximately two hours north of South Beach.
"That's news to me," Brown said when told of the arrest. "I talked to him yesterday. He's in Ohio."
Holmes did not return a message left on his cell phone.
Steelers spokesman Dave Lockett said, "We don't have any comment on it because we don't have any information on it."
According to the police report, Holmes was observed walking in the middle of Collins Avenue in a trendy area of South Beach littered with outdoor bars and restaurants. When traffic became disrupted and came to a standstill, a police officer told Holmes to "get out of the street." According to the report, Holmes "said several offensive words" to the police officer and was arrested.
"He was verbally abusive with the police officer," Hernandez said.
Hernandez said Holmes did not appear drunk and was not cited for public intoxication. No date has been set for the hearing.
Holmes attended the Steelers' minicamp two weeks ago, but he is not allowed to take part in the coaching and voluntary workout sessions because of an NFL rule that prohibits underclassmen from joining their team until either he or his class graduates.

I agree completely, but I think if I was in that window after being a first round pick and before having inked my contract, I would be watching tape, working out, and in bed every night by 10pm.I've known a few overzealous cops/security guards, etc. who would have been successful in Nazi Germany. Seriously, some of these yahoos let it go to their head.
Nice thought, but I'd live it up a little. I was using some hyperbole. I wouldn't lock myself up, but I probably wouldn't be out on the street at 3:30 AM either.Nice thought, but I'd live it up a little. Washington Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas and forward Awvee Storey have been arrested on charges of disobeying police.
Storey was blocking traffic in the middle of a busy street when an officer told him to get back to the sidewalk Saturday night, according to police reports. Storey didn't get out of the street, and the officer arrested him and charged him with failure to obey a command. While police were arresting Storey, Arenas got out of a vehicle and walked toward the arresting officers. According to reports, an officer told Arenas to get back in his vehicle, but he refused, saying he wanted to stand next to his teammate. The officer took Arenas into custody and charged him with resisting without violence.
As Arenas was being arrested, according to reports, he said, "You can't arrest me. I'm a basketball player. I play for the Washington Wizards, and I'm not going to leave my teammate." Both players were then taken to jail for processing. Wizards spokesman Zack Bolno had no immediate comment Sunday.
The two were arrested as part of a crackdown on disorderly behavior among those who flocked to Miami Beach for Memorial Day weekend.
A total of 557 people were arrested between Thursday morning and Saturday night on Miami Beach. Most arrests were for disorderly conduct and intoxication. During the same three-day period last year, there were 333 arrests. "We're definitely over from last year," Miami Beach police spokesman Bobby Hernandez said. "We're working a lot more plainclothes officers, so you're obviously going to make more arrests."

Fixed. Oh, and We Dey.Hah.
He's kind of like got more talent than Chris Henry, but not half as good. even with this arrest still has 10% of the baggage that a dip#### like Henry has.
I tried to tell people that Holmes was a character concern.Unfortunately for Holmes, in a financial sense, this happened to Holmes BEFORE he got a contract. Sure, Holmes has got to worry about what Cower's goona say...it's what the Rooney's say from here to training camp that matters financially.
Realistically: "Disoderly Conduct" is nothing new to Holmes:

Truth.Hah.He's kind of like Chris Henry, but not half as good
Learn how to spell. Were the cops just arresting anybody in the street or what? Over 600 arrests including Santonio and Gilbert Arenas.Truth.Hah.
He's kind of like Chris Henry, but not half as goodLook who can edit quotes! Very good. Now what sound does a piggy make? (Hint: Pittsburg women do this too)
You're right, he would have heard the cops' footsteps coming and immediately dropped into the fetal position. Resisting arrest wouldn't have been an option.Seriously, though, I'm not going to defend this. It seems like a pretty minor infraction, but you have to have more sense than this. If you're a first-round draft pick, don't be at Miami Beach nightclubs at 3 AM until AFTER you've signed. If the Steelers do get a discount, however, it's not all bad, as long as this isn't a harbinger of things to come.Hmmm.....

You would think the guy would (a) know the deal late night (i.e., don't do shizza to draw attention to yourself with the police), and (b) be home in bed getting ready for the next day's workout.
Where is Evilchin 72 defending this action...?
At least Chad Jackson would have had the sense to not get caught!

[best Mr. Rogers voice]San you say "Profiling"?There's a HUGE thing down here this weekend on South Beach, etc. that happens every year and is the cause of the "police crackdown," as someone else posted. Makes the local news every year as human interest story and of people complaining about the cops. That could be the reason he wasn't home studying his playbook.
