First of all, c'mon man, do a search. It's not that hard. We don't need a new thread every time somebody drafts a guy in a startup. Also, nobody cares about your team so no point in using that to frame the topic. This thread has some very recent discussion about Holmes:
Santonio Holmes
Anywhere Holmes actually wants to play he'd be a huge asset. Guy is a baller when motivated and healthy.
Yea, I tend to agree with this. Holmes has been a very frustrating player to own because for the last several years his production has not matched up with his ability, but don't let that fool you into thinking that he can't play. He is still in his prime and if he stays healthy and motivated he can be a 1000+ yard guy again. Remember Terry Glenn and Joey Galloway? Two other guys with big time talent who came onto the scene and did well early in their careers before suffering a LONG draught. Holmes doesn't seem to have Galloway's legendary work ethic and I don't expect him to play quite that long, but he can be the next Glenn easily. Just needs to avoid injuries and play with desire.
As I mentioned in the
other Holmes thread, I have no ties to this guy and had low expectations. Lisfranc injuries are no joke and he skipped all of training camp IIRC. However, I came away impressed after watching him play this year. Obviously his situation is terrible - being on a team coached by Rex Ryan and quarterbacked by Geno Smith, but he didn't look hindered by injury or out of shape.
Saying a wide receiver is on the wrong side of 30 is like saying a RB is on the wrong side of 26. Pretty pointless.
So, like the two guys above, I think he could be very fantasy relevant next year if he goes to the right situation. I can't accurately predict the chances of that happening, but if I feel like he's in the right place then I'll be snagging him late in a lot of leagues next year.
Here is my list of locations, in no particular order, that I think would work well for him:
New England - he would make a great complementary player to Amendola (or Edelman while Amendola is hurt).
Baltimore - Torrey just isn't an NFL WR1. I think Holmes would be really good here.
Indianapolis - Just like above, Hilton isn't an NFL WR1. Another really good fit.
San Diego - this team is starving for WRs. Rivers has made his WRs look better than they are. I think he'd make a great tandem with Allen.
Dallas - I think Miles is gone and not sure Terrance is the answer. He'd make a great WR2 here.
NYG - they'll probably roll with Randle, but I'd be somewhat interested if Holmes landed here.
Detroit - I just don't like Stafford that much and I think Burleson is underrated, but if Holmes became the WR2 here, I'd have to pay attention.
Carolina - love Steve Smith, but he's getting old for a speed guy and they need a legit WR opposite him. Not sure he'd be a great fantasy play here, though.
Seattle - he's better than Tate and it's always good to have someone ready to be your WR1 if Harvin gets hurt again.
Miami - I saw this mentioned above and I think he'd be better than Hartline, but they just signed Hartline to an extension so it's not going to happen. They need an offensive line first.
