Santonio Holmes Value? (1 Viewer)

What do you guys think Santonio's value is without Hines Ward?

Does it go up because he's the main target, or does it go down because now he will face the opposing teams top defender?

Where would you rank him among WRs?

Would you rank him below or above Braylon Edwards?

Ask the Assistant Coaches in the Who Do I Start Forum.Sneaky shark play.....

I thought I read today that Hines was ok?
i haven't read anything that says ward is OUT, unless this is a thread speculating on the value of holmes IF wards misses any time. if it's the latter, the title of the thread should be revised.

Hines Ward, WR PITNews: In an interview on SIRIUS Satellite Radio, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said that WR Hines Ward had a knee sprain and is "somewhat doubtful for this week" at Arizona. Ward was injured in the third quarter of a 37-16 victory over San Francisco in Week 3 when he took a helmet to the knee.Analysis: Expect to be without Ward for Week 4 Fantasy action. Expect Cedrick Wilson and Nate Washington to be more involved in the offense opposite Santonio Holmes.

Here is the rest of the quote I heard:
Tomlin has not ruled out having Ward for the game that pits him against former Steelers offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt in a battle of wits between rookie head coaches.

"I've learned not to count a guy like Hines Ward out," Tomlin said.

Start Edwards.Please answer mine

Considering the massive boner most of the FF world already had for Holmes all preseason, I doubt his value changes at all. Ward being out will justify the value he already had.

One thing to remember about Ward with regard to his right knee: He has no ACL.

So the strain is to his MCL or PCL. I would think he would be extremely cautious about this injury.

:excited:

Ward's a possession receiver while Holmes is their deep threat. Look for Nate Washington to fill his role rather ok like.

With the Steelers bye week in week 6 I'd expect if Hines is suffering any kind of discomfort he'll shut it down for the next 2 games and return against Denver on October 21 and buy himself 4 weeks off while missing just 2 games. In the meantime Holmes value has to go up if for nothing else he'll be on the field longer and get more red zone looks since he will assume Hines role as he did late in the game last week when the Steelers use the one WR, mulitiple TE look near the red zone.

If Hines missed the next two weeks I would expect he won't have fantasy value until week 8 against the Bengals since the Steelers play Denver coming off the bye.
