Santonio Holmes vs Cedrick Wilson vs. Nate Washington (1 Viewer)

Steelers have some easy games coming up including this week at home against T.B. I thought I saw where Holmes was lining up at the slot when Hines got hurt? Is Holmes going to be replacing Ward, or will it be Nate Washington. I really like Holmes to step in and produce Ward like numbers..

- I like 5 catches for 95 yards and a TD this week from Holmes

Thoughts?

Nate is the starter. You are forgetting about Miller & FWP, who's numbers are likely to go up.

Cowher said yesterday that Nate Washington and Santonio Holmes would both get time at Hines Ward's flanker position this week in practice.

If I had the choice between Santonio Holmes and Nate Washington I would take Holmes in a heartbeat. Simply put, Holmes is better than Nate Washington.

Hmmm

Have some bad matchups this week with D JAx at Denver and Berrian vs Minny - was considering picking up Nate Wash in a spot start - sounds like the homers think thats not a good idea and maybe Holmes is the guy to get.

Also nervous about Hass this week in Denver- anyone rec Big Ben this week?

Any more homer opinions or info?

I think they get split up rather evenly. It all depends though on whether Nate cathces the ball. He's had 3 end zone drops this season which must weigh on him and Ben. Holmes will not start but will fill in every 3rd series or so for Cedric while also getting some plays in at flanker (Nate's position). To me, that makes him the most attractive of the 3.

The question is playing time. Santonio's been hot, but I just didn't see him on the field that much last week. Shocked to see the likes of Cedric Freakin' Wilson and Nate No Hands Washington in 3WR sets with Ward. Tampa Bay's secondary is getting scorched, so I'm considering starting Holmes as my #3 over Jennings, but I don't know. He needs to be on the field 80% of the time.

I grabbed Holmes a couple of weeks ago just for kicks.

Any chance Ward sits out the rest of the season due to their bad record?

There was a thread about this earlier. Based upon Cowher's press conference and the type of player Ward is, I expect him back in 2 weeks barring any unforseen setbacks.

I wouldn't base anything on last week, it was such a total meltdown.Holmes has been getting more and more playing time and sharing time with Wilson at #2. Holmes is second on the team in receptions. That should say something...

Wanted to bump this thread for tonight.

I am actually thinking of starting Nate over Keyshawn or Evans.

The last 3 games CLE has been hit pretty hard against the pass.

Green

297/4

Palmer

275/3

Big Ben

272/2

Any Pitt or Cle homers that can provide some insight?

Pitt play calling?

Cle DB's and their abilities?

?

?

There are several other threads where this is discussed. Personally I would be reluctant to start any offensive players from Pittsburgh or Cleveland tonight except for maybe FWP and the TEs.

ThanksLet me look alittle deeperI hear you on any Pitt & Cle players aside from FWP & TE'sI just figure Big Ben should be good for at least 200 and a TD, just trying to figure if Nate could get 50% of that, and mainly just trying to deterimine the lesser of 3 evils for my 3rd option

Even with healthy CBs I don't think Cleveland's secondary is anything to write home about. My concern with Nate is his drops and the fact that I think the Steelers are going to run the ball early and often tonight.

Agree but he's due to catch the ball.I don't want to start 2 PITT players tonightso it's either Washington in and Heath Miller outor Daniels in and Moss/Welker in. Just gotta pick the combo right.

Holmes and Washington's value have just been raised.

Cedrick Wilson will miss Thursday night's game because of an ankle sprain.

Bad timing for Wilson, who was hoping to impress with Hines Ward out of the lineup. There are reportedly some within the Steelers organization that aren't thrilled with Wilson and he seems unlikely to retain his starting job next year.

I hear ya. Picking the right combo is what FF is all about. Good luck.

Wilson was already being phased out -- he has been splitting series with Holmes for the past 5 or 6 games. Barring an injury to another Steeler wideout, it is very unlikely he will be starting for the Steelers next season. This should be a big game in the life of Santonio Holmes. It is his first NFL start and all of his legal problems are behind him. I would think he will be very pumped for this game -- whether or not that translates to anything on the football field remains to be seen...

 Although FWP and Pittsburgh D should be good starts. Miller is a coin-toss but TEs usually are and Miller should see more action with Ward & Wilson out.

I am wishing you the best of luck!

Thanks bro! My alternative TE is LJ Smith.

talk about putting all your eggs in one basket:

i need a win to clinch playoffs, and due to injuries, i am playing BIG BEN, FWP, NATE, and WINSLOW JR.

It will be a great thurs night for me or a terrible one

Yeah good luck to you also, I think I'm just going to stick with just Heath Miller over Owen Daniels

and play Welker or Moss at WR3

Good luck guys, Go Steelers.
