Santonio Holmes (1 Viewer)

Just wondering what the thought on Holmes is after the bye. I assume Ward will be back after the bye. I assume Holmes, (pulled hammy) in pregame yesterday, will be good to go as well. Projections/thoughts for the rest of the year? Big Ben will put up some numbers, but I don't see him being a top QB the rest of the year with the running game doing well. I'm personally expecting a lot of inconsistency and from here on out I see Holmes as a WR #3, maybe about WR #30-#40. Thoughts?

I think that is a fair assesment, he will have some big games and some mediocre games, but they will be taking some shots down the field and Ben looks for Holmes on those plays. I would say a great #3, borderline 2 with upside.

The Steelers play some teams down the stretch that are tough to run against: New England, Baltimore (twice), Jacksonsville. They're going to need a passing game and Holmes will be a big part of it.

I think you're wrong on Ben - he has really matured into a great QB. I think he is a lock to finish top 10 - I like Ward and Holmes as solid #2's for the stretch run -

I wouldn't describe it as "a lock", but the odds are good--if only because of the performances of others who we expected more from (starting with Brees & Bulger!). He's currently at #9 in my league, but with Pittsburgh's running game and defense hitting on all cylinders I'd say he's a much better NFL QB than fantasy one, and will only be called on to pass when necessary or to keep other defenses honest.

Great FF QB? Probably.Great NFL QB? Don't think so.

Personally I think Santonio will put up solid WR2 numbers, making him a great WR3 if that's where you're starting him.

"Great FF QB? Probably.

Great NFL QB? Don't think so"

I actually think it is the exact opposite to be perfectly honest. I think he has developed into a great NFL QB but a above average fantasy QB

Any word on how bad the hammy is? And when did it occur?

Still a little cheesed that I took the big goose egg with him in my lineup because I did not know he was out :goodposting:
