Schaub/Rosenfels "Contraversy" (1 Viewer)

More shooting from the hip by CBS, I wonder how many people they lead down the wrong path with their garbage per week!

Per CBS:

Schaub was seen on the sideline in the second half with his helmet on and the injury did not seem to be that serious. But when Rosenfels marched the team down the field for a touchdown on the opening possession of the first half, that pretty much sealed Schaub's fate for the day. Let the quarterback controversy begin leading into Week 10 vs. Baltimore. Schaub may be on the injury report leading up to that very tough matchup.

He took a helmet to the knee ala Brady or Palmer, but fortunately his foot wasn't planted so there was some give. Still, he was clearly hurting and having some trouble putting weight on it. The knee probably contributed to his interception in the red zone before the end of the first half as his pass to FB Vonta Leach was a wobbly duck with no velocity whatsoever.

Schaub was certainly having a sub-par first half, but Schaub has been one of the hottest QBs in the league over the last month. Does CBS know something that we don't? Likely not and they are pulling this out of their anoos.

The only reason Schaub would not play would be due to injury. He is the starter, period. Rosenfels is more than capable as a backup, but he's not any better at protecting the football than Matt Schaub. He hasn't done anything to merit a real QB controversy.

I was watching the game along with a bunch of others...I didn't know Schaub was injured. I thought Sage was put in like a DOn Strock type move to motivate and rally the troops. Don Strock? How bout Frank Reich for you youngsters?

Seriously? You didn't see Schaub limping around the field after Allen hit him low?

I really didn't...must have been face first in a vat of hot wings or something.

They also call BAL a "very tough" match-up...maybe a couple weeks ago, sure, but BAL has big injuries in secondary now, so while the run D is brutal their 2ndary can be thrown on (about 250YPG last four games after starting off season at about 143 YPG). Last 4: Manning 271 yds/3TD, Pennington 295 yds/1TD, Jamarcus 228 yds/1TD...which is like 450/4TD to most QBs :bs: , and Anderson 219 yds/2TDs.

So, I think with the weapons he has, Rosenfels will be a fine start next week if he's given the nod.
