Schaub (1 Viewer)

Rovers

Just read a blurb... Schaub practiced on Wednesday, but is now being considered a GTD. Sucks for people like me with Rothlisberger and Schuab, and the acursed Thursday night game. I love wtaching the NFL on Thursday, but it can surely complicate FF playoffs.

IF Schaub sits... is Grossman a viable start against the soft Seattle pass D?

It affects AJ owners as well. Grossman is really bad.

Most people will feel forced to roll with him if Grossman goes out there, but personally I'm benching him for Cribbs (return league) if Schaub sits.

While he is technically a game-time decision, I think there is about a 90% chance he plays. I wouldn't be too worried, especially not to the point where I'd start Cribbs over AJ.

Personally, I'd go with Schaub over Roethlisberger, but I can see the argument for Ben, even without Ward.

Under normal circumstances, I think Ben would be a decent "safe harbor" play against the Browns with the uncertainty over Schaub. Two big things go against this though for your situation:

1) The circumstances aren't normal - game conditions will be awful for the Steelers game and they very well could just run all over the Browns instead.

2) Schaub is remarkably tough. He put all his numbers up last week after the injury occurred.

Now for a McNabb/Schaub owner like me, there's more food for thought :football: I appreciate the heads up.

Wish I had yor dilemna. McNabb as the safer bet. If not for the weather. I'd be all over Roths, but that forecast is brutal. I was at least able to get Grossman on the WW. I'll likely go with Schaub, but be ready to plug in Grossman :football: if I have to. But really, the point of this thread was not so much a WDIS... can Grossman put up 200 and a TD or two? Is he a viable FF playoff starter in a bind this week?

If he's practicing on Wednesday it's a pretty good bet that he'll play.
While this isn't an iron clad rule, I tend to agree with it. It's not like a guy like Schaub needs practice reps at this juncture of the season, so if he's out there on Weds he's learning the gameplan for Sunday. He'll hurt like a MF when he gets sacked but it is his nonthrowing shoulder and I'm sure he'll be shot up. That said, I wouldn't be surprised to see Big Ben have a good game in these weather conditions - he has a big enough arm to cut through the wind, and WRs have an advantage running routes in this footing. My $0.02 FWIW ....

From CBS Sportsline:

Texans QB Matt Schaub was listed as full participation in practice Wednesday. Schaub, who left last week's game at Jacksonville with a separated left shoulder but was able to return, is considered probable for Sunday's game against Seattle. Schaub finished the game against the Jaguars with 207 passing yards, one touchdown and one interception.

(Updated 12/09/2009).

Full practice...he'll play Sunday.

Actually it's possible. If your league doesn't penalize interceptions, Grossman could actually serve as an okay desperation back up. Gotta figure if he's decent and they're winning - he's throwing okay and probably snuck a TD in there somewhere. If they are losing, he'll have to throw to catch up :) -QG

Texans | Schaub practices Thursday

(KFFL) Houston Texans QB Matt Schaub (shoulder) fully participated in practices Thursday, Dec. 10. He will be able to play in Week 14.
FWIW, I entered a lineup where I benched Schaub and Andre Johnson for Gradkowski and Miles Austin. My opponent has WR-Kevin Walter-HOU and he's one of his options for his last Flex lineup, and I don't want him starting him just because I have Schaub.

Figured I'll change it last minute.

So of course it'll backfire, but hey, this is fun.

I dont mean to be negative but has anyone seen any beat writer blurbs on the true defintion of " full participation"? Suxs for the guys backing up Roth but he really seems like one hard hit from being pulled early - if he plays.

That's evil. Good, and I'm going to use it someday, but evil. :lmao:

Schaub will be playing unless something crazy happens, from what I read of a Kubiak interview, Schaub was practicing with his shoulder harness on to get used to playing in it. He is a go, hope I'm right, he is the only QB on my roster

I had Schaub & Brees early in the season but traded away Brees.

Luckily I picked up Warner in a ttrade a few weeks ago.

I like Warner in playoff weeks 15 and 16 against DET & STL.

Schaub i think has STL week 15.

I'm in 2nd place but could drop to 4th if I lose this week to the current 1st place team.

I thought I started the official Schaub Injury thread, but it's no big deal...

Do you have a link that states Schaub will be a gametime decision? If not, can you update the thread title? Thanks.

Sorry, didn't see your thread. This was the blurb I saw at a pay site:Schaub continues to work hard to get ready for the team's Week 14 contest with Seattle and could be a gametime decision despite practicing early in the week. If Schaub has a setback and is unable to go then backup quarterback Rex Grossman would get the starting nod for the Texans. That was yesterday when I started the thread. Later updates say he is wearing a brace, is probable and wll start.

:lol:Here is the latest from MFL.com posted 3 hours ago:
TheHuddle) Houston Texans QB Matt Schaub (shoulder) fully participated in practices Thursday, Dec. 10. He will be able to play in Week 14.Analysis: Schaub has a great chance at posting big numbers against Seattle's weak pass D. However, start him with caution. He's playing with a separated non-throwing shoulder, and if he's planted into the ground by a 300-plus pound lineman he may have to leave the game. The same thing happened to Matthew Stafford last week and he's out this week.
I gotta decide between him or Palmer... I may just go for the gusto and roll with Schaub though (his ceiling is much higher than Palmers).
