Not a big signing but he will make one of the few available roster spots. From what I've heard he's a good receiver/very good hands but not a great blocker. His size could create matchup problems down the road. Imagine a gold zone package of Vjax (6' 5"), Floyd (6' 5"), Gates (6' 4"), Chandler (6' 7") and LT. Some seriously big targets to matchup against.

In a Q&A last week with Chargers.com, tight end Scott Chandler discussed the countless duties that come with one’s first months of life in the NFL, such as finding a home, moving family, learning the playbook and physically preparing for training camp.
One thing Chandler will no longer have to worry about is his contract. The Chargers’ fourth-round draft pick got that taken care of early as he signed a four-year deal with the Bolts Monday.
“It was kind of surprise that it got taken care of so quickly but I’m really glad to have it done,” Chandler said. “I didn’t think it would happen until just before training camp but everything came together smoothly and I can just focus on getting settled and playing football.”
The Chargers drafted the 6-7, 265-pound Iowa product with the 129th overall pick in April’s draft. Only one tight end in school history caught more passes than Chandler during his career with the Hawkeyes, and the Chargers believe he’ll be an asset to their passing game as well.
Chandler’s pass-catching ability has already caught some eyes during his short time in San Diego. In a recent edition of The Sporting News, Dennis Dillon named Chandler to his “All Shorts” team, a list that recognized 12 NFL rookies for their efforts during their team’s first Mini Camp.
“The 6-7 target regularly got open down the seam and on corner routes,” wrote Dillon.
Chandler is the first of the Chargers’ six draft picks to sign. His signing was aided by the signing of the player selected immediately after him, Bears guard Josh Beekman, who signed last week.
“Now it’s time to focus on what I was brought here to do,” Chandler said. “I’m finding a comfort zone here. I can’t wait for training camp to get here.”
