Fair Tax!
Leon Young (D) speaking now. This guy is awful. He is purposely speaking very slow to make this take longer. Literally. It's like a bad Taxi episode.
Yea...this is aFredd Kessler (D) Milwuakee is on the floor of the Assembly now talking. His basic point - fair housing legislation and civil rights laws in the 60's took years to pass. This bill has only been discussed for 4 weeks. We need months and years to discuss this. People are on vacation in Florida. Not everyone has heard every single word on it yet. We are going too fast. Something this big should be going very very slow. There might be some people int he state that don't know all the facts.Pretty awful speech.

Yet you wanted Walker to negotiate with them and give them the victory they wanted.2. The Democrat Legislators of Wisconsin
I'm referring to the 14 state senators who chose to leave Wisconsin rather than allow a vote to take place. Of all the people I have mentioned, they did the ONE UNFORGIVEABLE act- they have threatened our system of democracy. If we allow them to get away with this, where does it stop? Can any legislator break the law and opt out on either side because they disagree with an issue?
I have written so much about this particular subject in this thread that I won't repeat it here. But it is truly shameful what these guys have done, and even more shameful that some on the left have chosen to honor this move.
We are dealing with a similar debate in New Jersey and we are getting along fine, thank you very much. Take your political self loathing somewher else please.1. The American Public
Democrats, Republicans, independents- we caused this. We caused it by year after year of awarding politicians who either increased spending or cut taxes with one re-election after another. We have stated in poll after poll that we want a government that spends plenty and gives us tons of goodies, but which doesn't tax us for any of it. This is obviously unsustainable. Why should we be surprised that when it reaches crisis point, nobody wants to give anything up? The Republicans refuse to even consider reasonable tax hikes. The Democrats refuse to even consider reasonable spending cuts. And so we get situations like this one, and there's going to be even more and more over the next few years as both sides go beserk when they can't get everything they want. Get ready, we asked for it.
That's because you have a spectacular, extraordinary governor. I wish we all had that, but we don't.We are dealing with a similar debate in New Jersey and we are getting along fine, thank you very much. Take your political self loathing somewher else please.1. The American Public

I refuse to be associated in any way with the political douchebaggery occurring in Wisconsin right now. SchlzmWe are dealing with a similar debate in New Jersey and we are getting along fine, thank you very much. Take your political self loathing somewher else please.1. The American Public

I enjoy arguing with you.Okay Tim I am ready to sacrifice for the good of the FFA...Tim if you stop posting in the FAA I will stop posting in the FFA...If you use an alias it cannot be anything related to your Timschochet alias...No bet, no waiting until 2012, I will not post again unless you do...No more FFA for us, we OWE it to the FFA...![]()
True, but we also seem to have - believe it or not - responsible democratic legislators who take their jobs seriously who in disagreeing and debating with our Governor have helped to move us forward. That's because you have a spectacular, extraordinary governor. I liked the bald guy who was claiming the R's, with their majorities, were afraid to hold a "legitimate" vote while his associates were MIA.SchlzmFred Clark (D) is now speaking. The November election was a very very long time ago and everyone in the assembly should go back to their districts and talk to people before they vote on this bill because the people of the state can't possibly know anything about this. It's criminal. These guys are seriously delusional.
If this bill passes, the housing market in Wisconsin will die and all middle class people will lave the state or simply spontaneously combust on the street.

I would make the same deal with you but alas you are but a nit on Tim's jockstrap...Yes, that certainly would be sacrifice on your part, the possibility of giving up such a well respected username.I dont know you or know your user name but you have given me an idea...I will make a bet with Tim on the outcome of this in 2012...I will retire my username if this turns out to be a tsunami for the democrats if Tim will retire his username if it does not...This will for sure make one side or the other really really happy...Come on Tim man up and take the bet, put your username where one of your mouths are...Thanks, Scott Walker...Landslide VICTORY for Obama in 2012 guaranteed! This is the pebble thrown into the ocean, that will turn into a tsunami, that will crush the RNC in 2012.There will also have to be a sig bet included in this offer, details cant be worked out...
Oh, for crying out loud. Geez, it is bad enough to have the countdown without the over-the-top hyperbole.2. The Democrat Legislators of Wisconsin

Bernie Madoff never said that. Ken Lay never said that....Now he's saying that the republicans are making this worse by saying that the state is broke. Lee Iacoca never said that. Bill Gates never says that. If we just lie to people and say that we are rich more business will come and somehow every middle class family will wake up and see a brand new house next to their current house.
For the first time in my life:GO REPUBLICANS!!!!!!!I dont know you or know your user name but you have given me an idea...I will make a bet with Tim on the outcome of this in 2012...I will retire my username if this turns out to be a tsunami for the democrats if Tim will retire his username if it does not...This will for sure make one side or the other really really happy...Come on Tim man up and take the bet, put your username where one of your mouths are...Thanks, Scott Walker...Landslide VICTORY for Obama in 2012 guaranteed! Did he really say that? Damn, and I thought I was full of hyperbole. Just goes to show that amateurs have nothing on the experts.Cory Mason (D) speaking now - basically this bill, if passed, is a match that burns the US Constitution, the Wisconsin State Consitution and spits ont he graves of all US soldiers and Martin Luther King Jr.This is big.
Fine with me. I got you on ignore most of the time and rarely see your words of wisdom unless else someone responds to it (which eliminates about 90% of the postings).I would make the same deal with you but alas you are but a nit on Tim's jockstrap...Yes, that certainly would be sacrifice on your part, the possibility of giving up such a well respected username.I dont know you or know your user name but you have given me an idea...I will make a bet with Tim on the outcome of this in 2012...I will retire my username if this turns out to be a tsunami for the democrats if Tim will retire his username if it does not...This will for sure make one side or the other really really happy...Come on Tim man up and take the bet, put your username where one of your mouths are...Thanks, Scott Walker...Landslide VICTORY for Obama in 2012 guaranteed! This is far from over....It just hit me that this is almost over.Bummer.
Wisconsin isn't a trailblazer on eliminating Collective Bargaining. 26 other states (and the Federal Government) either have very limited collective bargaining or none at all for their public employees. Once these local governments in Wisconsin get used to being able to dictate how their budgets are being spent without union interference, they'll be very reluctant to let this new power go.This is far from over....It just hit me that this is almost over.Bummer.
4. The Tea Party
The populist Tea Party movement has used the economic crisis to promote their own solutions which, IMO, generally make things much worse. They want to force their will on their opponents, with no compromise from their hard line positions allowed. I sympathize with Tea Partiers: the problems they perceive in our society are real and do have to be solved. But they will never be solved through polarization and pushing forward legislation designed to antagonize the other side. As always, the hard solution of trying to find common ground, and slowly but surely moving toward free market solutions without disrupting the economy is the best solution. But they don't want to hear it.![]()

I just punched in my account number. And my password. Then waited forever. So why when the guy finally picks up the other end does he ask me for the same info again?
Yes, now its going to go to court to determine whether enough notice was given that they were having the vote...It makes me wish that once they figured out a way around the democrats hiding in Illinois, that they had just announced what they were going to do and held the vote today. That would have avoided all the procedural BS that's going to drag this out even longer. This is far from over....It just hit me that this is almost over.Bummer.

No worries there. In special session no notice is necessary, except for officially posting it on the bulletin board (which the clerk is confirming happened). There's a better chance of Obama saying he was born in Africa than this bill ultimately being declared illegal. I say ultimately because there's always the chance some ringer judge will rule the other way, but the law was clearly followed here.Yes, now its going to go to court to determine whether enough notice was given that they were having the vote...This is far from over....It just hit me that this is almost over.Bummer.
