Seahawks swing deal to boost receiver corps (1 Viewer)

You know your WRs are really hurting when obtaining Colbert is actually described as being a "boost" to the corps.

I've always liked him, but after a good rookie year he never got the looks I expected in Carolina. Might do well with the Seahawks.

Early congratulations, Keary, on being the number 1 WW pickup for week 3 IR move for week 4 of the 2008 season.
Fixed. This is like fastening yourself to the knife thrower's wooden wheel after watching the first three volunteers get impaled.

Those rookie stats were solely due to Steve Smith getting injured in Week 1. He only caught 51% of passes thrown to him, which was among the lowest of any WRs in the top-50 that year.

Since when is signing a guy who has poor hands and can't get separation from a defensive end a boost?
Apparently you don't get to watch seahawks games where you are from. The sad reality is that these guys are a boost. There is literally no one on the Seahawks active roster that should be an NFL WR, these guys included.

well its better than signing Jeff George and converting him to a WR.
Hmmmmmmmm. You might be on to something there. Also, Colbert has feet for hands and is now much more likely to be impaled with a first down marker or something. Better warm up the phone for Jeff...

Isn't there someone in the CFL they could pick up instead of signing more guys that have proven that they can't perform in the NFL?

is there any truth to the rumor that culpepper is negotiating himself a 5 year 50 million dollar deal to play receiver?

5th possibly a 4th round pick for Broncos. Pretty good trade for them taking advantage of the situation.
:goodposting: heckofa lot better than what we got for Holland and Foxworth.
My first thought when I heard of the deal was "how the @$*% do we get more for Keary Colbert than we did for Foxworth or Holland?!"

I wonder why the Seahawks didn't try to get D-Jax from Denver? D-Jax might have actually had some worth for them. I suspect Denver didn't want to give up D-Jax because his contract is cheaper than Colbert's.
