Sean Taylor a red zone WR? (1 Viewer)

From today's Washington Times:

Taylor's Expanded Role--------------------------------------------------------------------------The Redskins showed a new wrinkle on offense, putting a defensive playmaker into their goal-line formation.Twice, safety Sean Taylor lined up as a receiver near the end zone. Washington dressed only four wide receivers yesterday; the fourth, Antonio Brown, is primarily a return specialist and dropped many passes in the preseason. "He's huge with a big wingspan," Coach Joe Gibbs said of Taylor. "It may be something we continue to work with, because he's certainly an unusual guy." . . .
Gibbs also commented that Taylor is talented and athletic enough to play CB, RB and even WR in the NFL, in addition to S, so I think they're going to try to use him in creative ways.

Nice catch - I hadn't heard that.I'm guessing it would just be until Taylor Jacobs is healthy, assuming he wasn't on the active roster.

I doubt it. I don't think you just throw your best defensive player out there until a backup WR is healthy enough to play. I think he'll get some touches.

I agree with dgreen. This is classic Joe Gibbs, a new package that he didn't reveal to anyone during the preseason. Now, whether it bears fruit or not, I don't know, but I think this was more than an injury filler.

Sean was a awesome RB in High School. He started playing Defense solely once he got to the "U!" I think he'll be there until they take him to jail or until he leaves the Redskins as a free agent. Okay, a little extreme, but you get the point.

For those interested, here's a sweet "best of" video compilation of Taylor's plays from last year set to "Bad to the Bone." It's well done.

where?
My bad - I didn't post the link. Duh! :bag: EDIT to add that you need to install the xvid codec here, first. I'll see if I can find a simple .wav version of this video - I've seen it out there.
