Sean Taylor Owners (1 Viewer)

They have set the trial date for Taylor the day after the Redskins opener. Not sure if this will get pushed back until after the season, but it doesn't sound too good right now.

I would imagine in a worse case scenerio, Taylor pleads to a lesser charge and spends 6 months in jail during the off-season. Similar to what JLewis did last year. Add a 4 game suspension for being an idiot from the NFL and this problem is over.

From what I have read of the Florida DA, he does not want to listen to the story Taylor is selling. Recent evidence from a 3rd witness against Taylor was the deciding ballot to charge him! Not good. Taylor's claim of passing a polygraph did nothing to sway the prosecutor. The guy appears to be in for the thug! I think his off field antics will result in more down time than the NFL suspension. Gibbs won't tolerate it either. Wonder if he makes him sit 2 additional games just because!

I sure I am glad I unloaded him earlier this yr! Traded Kellen Winslow & Sean Taylor for Reggie Wayne and Andra Davis!

if he pointed a gun at somebody, i'm not sure what lesser charge he could cop a plea to... unintentional pointing a gun? :)seriously, i would be interested in what any lawyers out there could add... but i think this is a high profile case... it could be interpreted as making a mockery of the FL gun law if they allow him to get off on a lesser charge.i think whether you get to plea bargain is at the DAs discretion... i am also guessing the circumstances under which it is allowed is a function of how much evidence they have... if they think they have a strong case & can bring in a conviction, they may be disinclined to cut him a deal.

John Clayton said that he will likely get a continuance until after this years season, just an FYI.
