I don't blame the refs for being confused. They're old part-timers that are required to constantly reevaluate what the rules are. If the NFL wants to rewrite and tinker with the rule book ad nauseam, then they'd better have able bodies and minds that are employed full time.

I agree. The whole finish the catch through the ground has really messed up the rule book and has led to so many questionable calls. I honestly don't know what a catch is these days and like you I don't think they do as well. It's a shame now because it has now had an impact on playoff games, teams getting into the playoffs and tons of scores.
