Seattle vs. KC (1 Viewer)

Seattle is reeling. First Alexander, than Engram, now Hassleback. Wallace was a fine college QB but I have visions of Willie Beamon for him week 8.

On the road, new QB, facing LJ. Will this be a blowout that no one is talking about considering the 9ers are 16 pt doggs up in Chi?

I actually think Seattle comes out fired up. If they can run (yeah, big IF this year, but SA is supposedly back) they'll make it a good game because I'm sure KC won't respect Wallace as a passer. If he can be somewhat accurate, he'll have a decent day. If Holmgren let's him create with his legs, he's a fantasy sleeper IMO.

Where are you seeing Alexander is back? Earliest I heard is Nov. 6th.http://cbs.sportsline.com/nfl/story/9754339/rss

Kansas City big over Seattle. I think Kansas City would have beaten Seattle with Hasselbeck and Alexander anyway. KC owns the NFC at Arrowhead.

EDIT: Kansas City's record over NFC teams at home since 1996 is 17-4

Shaun Alexander-RB- Seahawks Oct. 25 - 8:29 pm et

The AP reports Shaun Alexander (doubtful, foot) ran on a treadmill Tuesday and Wednesday and expects to play in Week 9.

"His foot responded well," coach Mike Holmgren said. "He will continue to increase his workload this week, with the target being next week's game." Maurice Morris is a fantasy flex at best this week at Kansas City.

I hope so. I think KC defense is a good play this weekend :football:

Who knows. It's the beauty of the AFC West, any given Sunday...

ooops... strike that

(Seattle is still AFC at heart)

Very much so. KC ranked 6th in league in passing yards allowed (180.2) and Wallace will be playing catch up like he was against Minnesota. Look for a lot of INT's and no Seattle running game.

You are right this is gonna be a blow out.

Seattle's gonna kick their asses! :football:

The Chiefs’ struggling OT position could get a shot in the arm from an unlikely source this week — retired ORT John Welbourn, who’s coming off a six-week suspension for violating the league’s steroid policy. Welbourn, who missed the first four games of the 2005 season for a violation of the steroid policy, abruptly retired last summer. But the Chiefs held out hope he might rejoin the team when the suspension was up, and now the club will have a two-week commissioner’s exemption in order to determine what kind of shape he is in and make a roster move to accommodate his return. Welbourn is said to have been working out at the same California training facility where he did last year, when he quickly moved back into the starting lineup once his suspension was up. The OLT position, currently manned by Jordan Black while Kyle Turley battles back problems, has been the biggest issue, but Welbourn is more of a right tackle, which could lead to some shifting up front for K.C.

Seattle's defense can slow KC's offense and keep it relatively close. I don't see Seattle's offense doing much. They have been bad running the ball all year, and no one runs well versus the Chiefs in Arrowhead. So that leaves it up to Seneca. Not happening. I could see it something like 13-3 though.

I picked up the Chiefs D just for this game. No way will the 'Hawks go off, as with Wallace and Morris they are just too thin at the skill positions. Wallace will move the chains with his legs and an occasional good throw, but he will make mistakes too. The key will be the Chiefs O. If they get ahead, and LJ dominates, this will be a blowout.

I like KC this week as well - kicked around starting Huard this week but like Grossman's SF matchup a bit better. Still look for Huard to have a big day!

Welbourn was already at practice today. He's the 54th man on the 53 man roster, they do have two weeks to decide if they want to keep him. They also brought in Chris Terry, a former 2nd round pick (2.03 in 99) of the Panthers, who was released by Seattle last year. They currently have like 13 Offensive Lineman on the roster.But...I don't think even if Welbourn is in perfect playing shape, which he's not, that he'll start. Partially the same reason why Turley didn't get his job back. The O-Line has been improving by simply playing together.Remember, Shields and Waters were both injured during the preseason. Black was getting moved around, Bober was in there, Svitek was playing a lot, etc... The five guys they have starting now have played together for a few games, and it seems to be the reason behind their improved play. I wouldn't look for any change to be made at all, unless the line starts to struggle again. But keep in mind, a lot of what people are chalking up to as the line struggling...that's really just KC having to face 8 and 9 man fronts. SF played a base 4-4 defense, for instance. The Chargers played their normal 7 man front most of the game.

KC almost always wins at Arrowhead against QB's in their first year of starting. Wallace is making his first start ever. I think their record in this situation was something like 17-2 coming into this year, and they beat Alex Smith and Philip Rivers this year. Smith looked like complete ###, and got shut out. Rivers was better, but they were getting unrelenting pressure on him, and forced turnovers that got them out to the early lead.Wallace is going to get blitzed a lot. And it won't be pretty. Unless Morris can somehow get the running game going, it will get ugly. Seattle is going to be in for a long day.

Here is the two stats that tell me all I need to know#1. Chiefs vs. NFC at Arrowhead:The Chiefs own an NFL-best 20-4 record in interconference games at home dating back to the ‘95 season.#2. Arrowhead Traditionally Tough For First-Time QBs:Kansas City has also won 18 of its last 20 games against QBs in their first or second year as NFL starters who are making their initial appearance as a starter at Arrowhead.

Picked up the Chiefs D in every league I'm in for this week.

Seattle can't run, and now they can't pass. Seattle's D couldn't stop Chester Taylor at home. They aren't going to be able to stop LJ on the road.

Blowout.

Seattle held Chester under 3 YPC without the 95 yard run. They've also held SJax, Tiki. Edge and KJ in check. Thomas Jones was the only other player to do well against them and as you can see they've faced some tough RB's. It will be Seattle's pass defense that will be tested since they've been beat a lot this year.

The run D for Seattle will break down when they are on the field ALL DAY. This game will get ugly.

One thing we should all have learned by now is that anything can happen. The masses thought Chi would blow Arizona out. The masses also thought Arizona would blow Oakland out last week.

Seattle is still a talented squad with good coaches. My feeling is that the winner wins by a FG.

One MAJOR difference. Both 'Zona and Da Bears were on the road in those games. KC is at HOME. I would agree with your comment if the Chiefs were visiting Seattle and were expected to blow out the Seahawks. But they are at Arrowhead.

Many of Taylor's carries were at the end of the game when it was essentially over, and they were running up the middle against 8 and 9 in the box as they killed clock. During the first three quarters, Minnesota was having great success on the ground. They only threw one pass in the entire fourth quarter. If you want to discount the 95 yard run, you better ignore his last 10 carries or so, too.

I'm not discounting it but just showing that they did stop him pretty well except for the blown play. I wouldn't be surprised to see LJ do the same thing, but they could also avoid mistakes and contain him.

Every time I try to apply logic to the Chiefs, they prove me wrong.

They should've gave Pittsburgh a tough time but got rocked.

They should've struggled with the Chargers but controlled the game that wasn't as close as the score looked.

I'd pick them to cover the spread, but... they're too Jekyll and Hide for my liking.

I can guaranty you one thing. Seattle's D will explode this week. I predict easily the biggest points of the year for them.

How can I be so sure? I dropped them early this week for the Vikes, before I heard KC was going to the 3rd stringer. :wall:

KC will NEVER blow Seattle out with, or without, it's stars. Seattle 27 Kansas City 24 :banned:

Not like that 26-3 raping a few years back? The last time Seattle made a trip to Arrowhead they lost by double-digits, and it's not like the Seahawks aren't the red-haired step-kids of the head-to-head series losing 18-30 overall, is it?

I feel better after I heard Huard was out(how sad is that) If Seattle can stop LJ(and they will) Seattle wins by 10.

Blow out no, but a Seattle win yes.

Who is throwing the ball for KC? I would take Seneca Wallace over the backup for Damon Huard.

On what planet do you live?Chiefs | Huard hopeful for Week 8 startSat, 28 Oct 2006 06:23:26 -0700Elizabeth Merrill, of the Kansas City Star, reports Kansas City Chiefs QB Damon Huard (groin) is optimistic he will be able to start in the team's Week 8 game. Huard said an MRI on his injured groin did not reveal a tear and that he is feeling better. "I don't think it's the end of the world," Huard said. "I don't think it's really that big of a deal. And hopefully on Sunday I can go out there, feel good and just play ball."
If Seattle can stop LJ(and they will) Seattle wins by 10.
Good luck with that.San Diego has a much better rush defense than Seattle and Johnson tore them a new one.Seattle by 10? Do you have a Paypal account?

This is proving to be a very trying game for me this week. I have Stevens and Gonzo!!!! YUCK Just give me 2 pts..... haha
