Take it for what it is worth, but here is the brekaing news from a credible source on the Hawks board.

Sean Locklear is being held in the King County Jail on charges of domestic Violence incurred Sunday in "Pioneer Square" of all places. No details are known at this time I will update this as soon as details are made available. .NET is the FIRST source to have the news of Locklear's arrest which is why you have not heard it on the news sources.
Here is the King County Jail Register....Sean Locklear is in it. LINK
LOCKLEAR, SEAN HILARY

Total Bail Amount: Bail Denied

RCW / ORD: 12A.06.010D

The organization put a ban on any players going to "Pioneer Square", so even if Locklear is innocent, he still broke a team rule.Looks as if Pork Chop could be taking over and having the task of facing Julius Peppers.

EDIT to ADD: Thanks to BigTuna for the link confirming the rumour. LINK

wtf, Sean :wall:

Why does the team ban players from "Pioneer Square"? What is Pioneer Square?
I think their safety went there earlier this season and got into a lot of trouble and hurt for the year. Just not a good place for a player to go.Better get your money on Carolina, these things never work out well for the team; Harper and Indianapolis, Oakland and their center, Atlanta and their defensive back.

This news makes Carolina a lock.

Why does the team ban players from "Pioneer Square"? What is Pioneer Square?
Ken Hamlin was beat up at a club in Pioneer Square ending his season.
Maybe Sean was looking for the guy who beat up Hamlin. :stalker:
He was found dead in a park the night of the beating if I am not mistaken, which is creepy in itself.

Is it a club district? Is it that dangerous of an area.
Yeah its the night life spot in the seattle area. A dozen bars within walking distance of each other. I don't know what its like down there now, I haven't been there since I went to UW. I can't believe these idiots are going down there after what happened to Hamlin. I'd give him the maximum allowable fine by the NFL. That is just plain stupid.

No, they found someone that was at the same bar as Hamilin dead. It wasn't one of the guys that beat up Hamlin.

Has this report been confirmed yet? None of the local affiliates have reported this news and the local sports radio station has not mentioned it.

  The whole freaking team must've been out last night then, cause I saw Mack Strong, Leroy Hill, Bannister, and a few others off 1st Ave in Venom last night  :shock:Now this is a bit far from the actual pioneer square, but I haven't heard of this "NO Pioneer Square" policy...What more can I say? :ptts:

That's because there really is no ban on players going to that area. Holmgren asked them to be smart and make good choices. Some columnist decided to reword it to make it sound more news-worthy.

If his name is Sean Hillary, you can see the case for domestic violence right there. They're probably fighting over who wears the panties in the house.

I was speaking with my brother-in-law this morning (he lives in Seattle) and when I brought this up the first thing he asked was, "Was he in Pioneer Square?" He was apparently aware of a ban.

Yes, lots of people think there is some sort of ban. That's not a shocker. Its keeps getting talked about, but that's not the reality. There was a link in a thread on this board to Holmgren's exact words. It was in one of the Hamlin threads.

Seahawks tackle Sean Locklear, 25, was arrested early Sunday morning on what appears to be a domestic abuse charge, and remains in King County jail.

Early reports were sketchy, but Locklear and a woman were apparently shouting at each other in a restaurant when police were called, according to a Seahawks spokesman.

Police responded and in accordance with domestic abuse laws, Locklear had to be taken into custody even though the woman asked police not to arrest Locklear, the spokesman said.

Locklear must see a judge for a bail hearing before he can be released, and since it is a holiday, no judge can hear the case today. A bail hearing is expected for Tuesday, and the team said it expects Locklear back for practice on Wednesday.

Sounds like Locklear is the one who needs to learn, doesn't it?

Does it matter at al that she doesn't even want to press charges or do anything?
Probably not. Domestic abuse victims very often refuse to press charges out of love or fear or somewhere in between. This may be an isolated incident in which case she doesn't want or feel that there should be legal interference. Or it could be a recurring deal and she could have battered womans syndrome. In a lot of states, whether the woman presses charges or not, the state still presses the charges. Obviously it's impossible to tell where this incident lies yet. So all I can say is STOP ####### UP AFTER BIG WINS!!!! You can party all you want in 3 weeks STAY FOCUSED ON CAROLINA!!!!

If she dosen't go to court charges will be dropped. As far as the game he'll play, can't be suspended or fined till after the court date. I also read that Walter Jones will be up against Peppers, so no worries, and he's half speed anyway.Other than that Locklear is a POS if he choked his girlfriend.

Just imagine the choking references to him if he has a bad game!

 Peppers lines up as the LDE for the Panthers. He'll be right in front of Locklear all day long.

Nice to see the Seahawks are focused on this week's game.
And we saw what happened to Indy for overlooking the Steelers. I foresee the same doom for Seattle. When will people learn that they can't "take it easy" heading into/during the playoffs?

A lot of domestic abuse cases happen behind closed doors, so if the woman doesn't press charges there's no case. With three eyewitnesses, the state could be able to make a case without the woman's participation.

Jailed Hawk Locklear released after court appearance

SEATTLE -- Seattle Seahawks starting right tackle Sean Locklear was released without bail after an initial court appearance Tuesday for investigation of domestic violence assault.

Locklear was not charged at the hearing at a King County Jail courtroom, but Municipal Court judge Edsonya Charles ordered him to have no contact with his girlfriend, with whom he lives. He must also abstain from alcohol and other drugs while the case is pending. A second court date was set for Feb. 13 at 9 a.m.

Locklear made no statement in court Tuesday, except to answer yes or no questions from the judge.

Locklear was arrested Sunday, hours after the team's 20-10 playoff win over the Washington Redskins. He was unable to appear before a judge Monday because the courts were closed for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

City police were investigating an unrelated incident about 1 a.m. Sunday when three people told them a man was assaulting a woman on a nearby sidewalk. Police said the two were Locklear and his girlfriend, whose name was redacted from the police report.

According to the police report, the woman said she and Locklear had been at Belltown Billiards with friends when the player grew angry because she was dancing with another man.

They walked outside as she tried to tell him she had done nothing wrong but "this just upset him further," according to the report.

As they walked down the sidewalk, "Locklear grabbed her around the neck," the police report said. Officers wrote that they observed visible redness on her neck and chest. The woman then began to cry and refused to provide more information, insisting, "He didn't do anything."

She refused to let officers photograph her injuries or to provide a written statement, the police report said. She also declined medical attention.

The three independent witnesses who initially summoned police said they saw the man grab the woman around the neck, "putting both hands around her neck," according to the report.

Police said Locklear confirmed he and the woman had been arguing but said he grabbed her by the front of her shirt, not her neck. He made no further comments, police said.

Locklear has retained the law firm Fox Bowman Duarte of Bellevue, which advertises itself as a specialist in defense against drunken driving charges, The Seattle Times and Seattle Post-Intelligencer reported Tuesday.

"At this point the firm is investigating the case and there will be no comment until the investigation is complete," said Jon Scott Fox, a partner in the firm, in a statement issued late Monday. "Mr. Locklear has been cooperating fully with this investigation and throughout this case remains entitled to the presumption of innocence afforded to all citizens."

Locklear's status for the NFC Championship Game against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday was unclear. But coach Mike Holmgren said he didn't think the incident would be a distraction to his team.

"What I know about it so far -- and I don't know everything -- it should not be," Holmgren said Monday, without specifically addressing Locklear's playing status.

"I have to wait on details on that. I am aware of the situation. But right now, I have no comment. When we get more information, [we] will give it to you," Holmgren said.

Locklear, 24, was a third-round draft choice out of North Carolina State in 2004.

So it's a crime to date a red necked woman in Seattle?
