Sell Brady for quantity? (1 Viewer)

I'm in a super flex league.  QB's get 1 pt per 25 yds passing, 5 pts per passing TD and a 3 point bonus for 300 yards passing.  We start 1 QB, 1 RB, 1 WR, 1 superflex, 1 flex, 1 TE

My current team:  QB: Brady, Hoyer, Kizer    RB:  Hunt, Powell, Blount   WR:  AJ Green, Jordy Nelson, M. Bryant, T. Pryor, Jar Brown, S. Shepard    TE:  Graham, Engram

Normal starters in are in italics.

I offered to sell Brady last week just see what the offers might be.

I was offered Matt Ryan and M Mariota BOTH just for Brady.

His team:  QB:  Goff, Mariota, Ryan   RB: Cohen, D. Johnson, Forte, Perkins    WR:  Maclin, Parker, Tyr Williams, J. Jones    TE:

I declined last week cause Mariota was unlikely to play and Matt Ryan had his bye week.  Now I am confident this owner would probably still do it.  Most owners in our league start 2 QB's every week for obvious reasons.  I am 3-2 and very confident my team will make the playoffs.  So I tend to focus on playoff schedules when making trades for me.  Ryan has the Saints twice and @Tampa.  Mariota has @Cards, @49ers, Rams.  Brady has @MIA, @PITT, BUFF.

I know many people might immediately think "Brady is untradeable, why trade away 5,000 yards and 40TD's?"  Well, our league settings mean every week I'm rolling out Hoyer or trying to guess a good game from WR's like Bryant, Pryor, Powell, etc. while someone else always plays a quality QB at the super flex spot.

That's a decent move. While Hoyer can still put up points comparable to Mariota and Ryan, I think the thing you worry about is the team falling off the rails and giving their backup, C.J. Beathard, a chance to see the field before the end of the season. Then Hoyer is on the bench and un-useable.

I think it is a move worthwhile if I knew Mariotta would be back soon.  As of right now when you make the deal you will still be rolling out Hoyer but downgrade Brady to Ryan.  If you are confident you can float the ship until Mariotta returns I think the trade is a net positive for you.

Yeah I think I'd do that, in spite of Brady being a clear #1. The other thought is the Falcons have already piled up injuries again so don't expect 2016 Ryan if you're making this deal. I'd be most worried about that scenario than I would be worried about Mariota's injury as Ryan isn't the same without his weapons.

I wouldn't do it until Mariota returns, and tell the other owner that.  It's obvious with that offer that he wants Brady, but it makes no sense for you to downgrade Brady to Ryan today, and then have Mariota come along later...net negative trade for you in the long run
