Sell high (1 Viewer)

Everytime somebody starts off the season well, or strings together some good games they are not a candidate for sell high. Some players are just good. Randy Moss, for example. He's a proven top 3 WR, and only 30 years old. He had a couple of off years in Oakland, but seems to have found himself back in New England. That does not mean he's a sell high candidate. It means he's a top fantasy WR. Feel free to trade him, but sell high does not always apply.

HTH

i think TO is a potential "sell-high" candidate ... i don't see this offense maintaining the momentum and if this happens, TO's stats will suffer. Granted, i'm not saying he'll be a bust, but i think that TO owners can trade him for a couple of very good players that could outproduce him in pts.

I can't shake the feeling that in a month I'll be kicking myself for not cashing out on LaMont Jordan.

Coaching and personnel changes notwithstanding, this is still a team that managed only 12 TDs last year.

He could be a sell high candidate. Yes, he might have a good season or even a good career, but he doesn't have a long term track record of big fantasy season. The Raiders don't seem to get a lot of scoring opportunities. If you could get some good players for him at this point, he might be a sell high candidate.

Good info here :banned:
:thumbup:Seriously there is sell high, which you hope to do always, but the assumption is that the particular player is going to level off at some point and come back to the pack. I don't believe Moss is a sell high right now. He's a "sell at value" player. OP is exactly right here. Last year Ladainian was at no point a "sell high" candidate for example.

Sell high on Jamal Lewis What does that "black dot" emoticon mean?
It's just a marker so when you are scrolling through the main page, you get the little white indicator on the folder. This used to be a little black dot instead of whatever the hell it is now.

I thought it was "Happy to help."
Me too - whenever I use HTH that's what I mean, but it conveys the same sentiment either way. Of course I also used to think LOL meant 'lots of laughs' until my wife told me it meant 'laughing out loud' :bag: LOL
LOL is a dumb one. I mean seriously very few things make me laugh out loud.

I don't think TO is a sell high. Not that I think he's going to score 24 TDs but I don't see any reason for him to slow down. Dallas is going to need to score a ton of points to stay in games and he is the focal point of a very balanced offense. Sure it all depends on the needs of your fantasy team as to whether a 2-for-1 makes sense but I think he's going to be a WR1 all year long.Oh yeah, what does FAQ stand for?

I think Wes Welker's a good sell high candidate. Brady's on pace to finish with the 5th most completions in a season in NFL history, Welker's converted a very high number of his targets into receptions, and Donte Stallworth has done nothing so far. Once Stallworth gets some action, Welker's numbers will go down.

Plus, sharks seem to like Welker, giving him good trade value.

:own3d: He probably isn't going to have a bad season, but he probably won't keep up his current pace.

I always wonder if people are actually laughing out loud. And what about the ROFL one? Do they take their keyboards with them and type it while they're rolling?

Exactly, some people just don't get it. I've seen Steve Smith, TO, and Moss all mentioned as sell high. These are not sell high candidates they are doing what they are suppose to do. Sell high candidates are over-achievers whose production will drop considerably.

But they sure had a mean Sunday Morning brunch before every game thanks to Walsh. That guy knows how to turndown a bed AND cook a waffle.

No mention of Randy Moss? I mean, if you're going to talk about converting a large percentage of targets into receptions, you can't avoid Randy Moss and his 90+% catch percentage.

Considering Stallworth has never really performed at a high level on a consistent basis I see no reason why he will be a threat to eat into anyone's production. I believe it is Stallworth who will suffer because of Moss, Welker & Watson not the other way around.

Yes, Welker clearly seems to be the #2 in that offense. He's always been an underrated player, while Stallworth tends to be overrated, so it makes sense.

You have to expect the passing game as a whole to decline from this, but I don't see the roles changing much.

That said, if you needed a RB and someone was willing to give you an Ahman Green or Cadillac for him, I would strongly consider it.

Lamont Jordan sell high? I've been trying to trade him for a #1 WR as he has been on my bench for two weeks. He's the #1 RB in my league, but only #19 overall. Been shot down for TJ, Walker, Harrison, TO, S. Smith.....I was shooting high, but might have to settle for a legit #2.

Frequently Asked Question(s)BTW - I agree that Moss and Owens are NOT sale high canidates. Moss & Owens will endup in the top 5. Moss finishing ahead of Owens. (probably 3-4)
