Selling Aaron Jones (1 Viewer)

10 team, 2 QB, .5 ppr league

Team is:

QB: Cousins, Rivers, RB: David Johnson, Ajayi, Aaron Jones, McCaffrey, James White, Darren McFadden, and Alvin Kamara; WR: Hopkins, Davante Adams, Rishard Matthews, and Michael Thomas; TE: Graham; K: Bryant; DEF: Jacksonville

With Graham on bye, I need a tight end. An owner has offered Evan Engram for Aaron Jones. Waiver TEs include Jared Cook, Jack Doyle, Zach Miller, Ryan Griffin, AJ Derby, and David Njoku.

Is trading Jones away worth it for a one week rental or would you pick up someone off waivers?

I definitely wouldn't trade. Any of the waiver wire guys could produce as much as engram this week and if your assessment is that engram won't become a starter for you, Aaron jones has much more upside than that. No reason to give him the actual prospect while you take the guy who's a bye week filler. He's probably that owners backup too...of course he'd make that offer.

Engram should be better than Graham going forward-maybe not this week because he's playing Denver but certainly for the rest of season. Does the owner of Engram also own Montgomery? If not before pulling the trigger I'd look at the Montgomery owners team and see if there is anything there for you.

Engram doesn't excite me all that much in what should be an anemic offense the rest of the way. Even if he's one of the top targets with Shep (when he returns), I could see teams scheming just for him. Jones has all the tools to be a star in the league. Much easier to stream the TE position for one week. Even if Ty comes back this week, I still believe Jones will see more touches. Ty was never a three-down back at Stanford and has thrived as a pass-catching back in the league. Jones set records on the ground at UTEP. Keep the guy who has the brighter future in the better offense.

Yeah. I think the target share between Shepard (when healthy) and Engram will rise obviously. I'm waiting to gain some clarity as to whether or not Aaron Jones will start this weekend and if they'll sit Montgomery for another week. The matchup is tough but hard to overlook the volume he will see if Montgomery sits again. Zach Miller was just dropped and is available via waivers so if I don't make a move, I would go with him or Jack Doyle. It's hard to see trading a guy who could potentially be the RB 1A on the Packers for a TE I need for one week (although one who could still be valuable rest-of-season). The guys that owns Engram does not own Montgomery but is scrambling a bit as an Elliott owner. He did pick up Alfred Morris but I picked up Darren McFadden.

His roster is:

QB - Carson Palmer, Aaron Rodgers, Tyrod Taylor, Jacoby Brissett

RB - Ezekiel Elliott, Kareem Hunt, Alfred Morris, Wayne Gallman

WR - Keenan Allen, Chris Hogan, Amari Cooper, Martavis Bryant

TE - Zach Ertz, Evan Engram

K - McManus

DEF - Houston

Engram means nothing to this guy since he owns Ertz. I'd see about packaging up DMC and Matthews for Hogan and Engram, and if that is too rich for him try Cooper and Engram. I think Cooper is a good buy low candidate and would be worth a shot if you can't get Hogan, Still I would look at the Monty owner to see how much they value Jones.

Yeah, I'd love to try for Cooper as a buy low. We'll see. I don't think I could get Hogan and with his team not being particularly strong at WR, I don't see him biting on that. Unfortunately the Montgomery owner doesn't trade much unless her team absolutely warrants it. Her team is 0-5 and I trade to trade for McCoy with Jones and gave her the option of Ajayi or McCaffrey but didn't get any traction. I'll try for Matthews/McFadden for Engram/Cooper. Or I may just offer both for Engram in a 2 for 1. Terrelle Pryor is on waivers and I may try and grab him as a 4th WR instead.

I'd still try for Hogan first-even if you rightly believe he will turn it down- then you can 'settle' for Cooper.
