Fixed.I have Henry and Young, is there ANY chance Bell Hall might be the goto back if Henry is out rather than Young?
I think the boiled down condenced version is that Young is the primary backup for the immediate future and short term. You are fine right now. If you have the roster space or are in a keeper league, grab Hall for the future and maybe this yr, depending on the breaks. But, Young is the man for now it seems. Hall is a big talent that could get a shot too.Thank you guys, so should I be worried that Young is not my handcuff anymore?

Please don't spread misinformation, even in jest. Hall is not the backup this week. This week, the backup is still Young. The backup will continue to be Young for the forseeable future.ScoobyDoo said:Young was the consensus back up last week. This week it is Hall.I'd be worried.gullah25 said:Thank you guys, so should I be worried that Young is not my handcuff anymore?
Yup, Shanahan likes his FBs so much that he gave Reuben Droughns a shot as soon as Mike Anderson, Quentin Griffin, Tatum Bell, and Garrison Hearst all got injured.Olandis Gary, Mike Anderson, Reuben DroughensShanny likes his Full backs when his primary RBs go down. Keep a close eye on Cecil.
Not true. Young is the backup. Too much 5 min Drill love in this thread. I expect Young to do very well when given the reins, but Hall will get some reps also. To tell you the truth, I'm not sure what Shanahan will do long term, but I do know that if Young excels, how could he play Hall over Young? One thing he probably will do if that is the case, is to trade him next spring for a 1st day pickScoobyDoo said:Young was the consensus back up last week. This week it is Hall.I'd be worried.gullah25 said:Thank you guys, so should I be worried that Young is not my handcuff anymore?
SSOG, you always seem to give quality analysis of the Denver situation. What are your opinions regarding the current RBs behind Henry? Please don't spread misinformation, even in jest. Lots of guys who Shanahan would feel comfortable giving the ball to, but no game-breakers (I suppose Selvin has potential to be one, but if he were there, he'd be getting more carries right now). The simple fact is that we really don't know HOW the backup battle is going to shake out because there's nothing to go on- Henry is healthy, getting all the reps, and getting all of the carries in game, so there's no sample for us to project based off of. All I know is that Selvin is getting the 2nd-string reps, and he's the first person to get touches when Henry takes a breather (Sapp and Bell are usually running form the FB position), so based on that, it seems pretty obvious that Shanahan considers him the #2. I'll roll with that until Shanahan gives me some solid data to believe otherwise. So, now that we've established that Selvin will be the primary ballcarrier with Henry out, all that's left to do is figure out how the carries will be broken down (whether Selvin will get 75% of the carries, or whether it'll be 60% Selvin and 40% everyone else, or even a 50/30/20 type of split). At this point, that's all just a bunch of guesswork and unfounded speculation, and anyone who claims otherwise is probably trying to sell something (or perhaps buy something). I could give you my guesses, but that's all they are- guesses, darts thrown at a dartboard. I don't know how much Young will get, in large part because I haven't even seen enough of Young to know how he'll do once he starts getting consistent opportunities. Lots of potential for huge value there, but no guarantees.SSOG, you always seem to give quality analysis of the Denver situation. What are your opinions regarding the current RBs behind Henry?
Yes, there's a chance that he reverts back to Bell. If Bell's playing the best, Bell's getting more PT. Regardless, Selvin's going to get first shot at the job.As for who the guy is in 2008... depending on what happens with Henry, I think Henry's still going to be the guy. After that? No clue. Denver's constantly churning its RBs. I'd have to know who was even on the team before beginning to guess, especially if Denver takes an RB in the 3rd, 4th, or 5th round, as it has been wont to do in the past.Just wanted to bump this - reading through all the posts - trying to size up everything (knowing that Shanahan is likely to do anything):2007 (assuming Henry gets suspended): Selvin Young with sprinkles of Andre Hall???2008 : Andre Hall???Judging from how high the FBG staff is on Hall, I'm tempted to think that Selvin may be the flavor of 2007 and Hall (or "some guy off the street") is 2008????Thoughts???Any way that he reverts back to Mike Bell for 2007 or 2008?
exactlyO. GaryG. Hearstwho knows?Selvin Young = Q. Griff?!Quentin Griffin
I love this misconception about Shanny. Besides last year all of his moves at RB came from injuries. He already said at the beginning of the year....Young is a starter in this league...meaning he has the talent. Please don't spread misinformation, even in jest. Hall is not the backup this week.
