Selvin Young (1 Viewer)

With 2 healthy backs left on the roster, what will the value of Selvin Young be moving forward?

I think Torain has the clear run on the majority of carries from here out, but Shanahan has said he would rather not throw a big workload on Torain just yet.

Selvin has been in the dog house and hurt all year. Does he have any value here? Is Torain the only hope for fantasy value out of the Denver backfield?

What say you?

 The Donkey's only have ONE healthy back. SY may not play this weekend. I see Shanny running Torain about 20+ times. Maybe even more if SY does not play this weekend. I have not seen him practice yet this week. Should be interesting.

Are you a homer laughinboy? If Selvin is out another game, is there another RB on the roster besides that FB, Hillis?

In reality the Broncos activated RB P.J. Pope from the practice squad today, most likely will not play but with Shanny? Also I would not be shocked to see Hillis pull a "Droughns" and end up being the man in Denver. The best thing about the FF and the Denver Running game is not owning a Denver RB. :goodposting:

PJ Pope and a rookie FB who played LB in college. I would think Denver will lean heavily upon the passing game again this week. I wouldn't be surprised one bit to see Hillis taking some snaps at HB this week either. I've seen a lot of people wondering why SY hasn't been getting carries this year and it is because he has been hurt for much of the year. When he has been healthy enough to play, he seemed to get nicked up a lot just like last year. He is an explosive option and a decent receiver out of the backfield but he doesn't appear to be a guy who can be an every-down back. 10-15 snaps a game when healthy seems about right.

Not a homer. It's called reading rotoworld.com. I own Torain, but will not be starting him this weekend. I'm not sure I believe in the hype just yet, but traded away Ray Rice to a McGahee owner to get Torain. I think he will do OK this week if Shanny lets him carry the ball 20+ times. I'll say 20 carries 75 yards with a possible score. And I do think the Bronco's will find another RB to lighten the load on Torain, possibly Hillis.

It must be Torain, cuz some a**clown in our league just traded barber away for him.
Come on. What type of league?
it's actually a very competitive league at work, but these a**wipes are gonna ruin it. cheatin" ^. we're trying to get the commish to reverse it before it gets worse, other teams are talking of equally ridiculous trades to pay back. if that happens its all over

Apologies if this has been mentioned already in this or another thread, but is it possible that when Pittman and Hall were injured last week that Shanahan purposely put Torain on the shelf the rest of the game knowing he'd need him for a quick turnaround on Thursday night?

Seems like it'd be smart to hold him back Thursday knowing you might need a heavy workload from him in four days, especially when he hasn't practiced or done much to this point. I can see him getting a nice workload Thursday as I don't think Young will get out there.

I dropped Fred Taylor for Selvin Young today. Taylor never gets off of my bench anyway so I went for a possible upside with Young although I don't trust Shanny until he only has one good back left. Torain hasn't shown anything yet.

Don't you think it a little early to say "he hasn't shown anything". I mean, he has a whopping total of 3 NFL carries.

I've got Torain on my roster, but I'm hesitant to start him. Luckily, I don't need him this week, but I do think he'll produce pretty well (16 carries for 70 yds/2 receptions for 10 yds and a possible TD thrown in).

Let's at least give him a CHANCE to fail before we write him off. Seriously, Pittman did pretty well this year when given the rock, and he's very average at best. I think Torain's 1-Cut style fits Denver's team pretty well. I don't, however, think he's the next coming of Terrell Davis like Shanny says. I guess we'll have to see...

I think its the perfect time to say it. Definitely not ready to say he "wont" show anything though
