Serious Biz Dynasty Year 18 - Initial Waivers Run Monday at Noon EST (49 Viewers)

Year 18 (2025) league page: https://www.fantrax.com/newui/fantasy/joinLeague.go?leagueId=f0k2ul2um1s3281k

2025 Edition

18th year, 2nd board, 3rd thread, 2nd fantasy site

12 teams, 480 rostered players

No ownership changes for year 18

Rules changes for final approval: Maximum games played (aggregate) for hitters, varying number of protected slots by finishing order

Using Fantrax Treasurer again this year.

RIP former league members Finless (Chris Holmes) and Tremendous Upside (Sean Gullen)

Link to 2025 CB Draft Sheet

Next steps:

  1. Protect 25 keepers by February 11. Remaining players will be unprotected for competitive balance draft.

  2. Four round competitive balance draft in reverse order of 2024 standings (Non-snake). Each team can only lose three unprotected players.

  3. Process any necessary drops to get all teams back to 40 man rosters

  4. Annual waivers cycle using waivers order carried over from last year.

It appears that Fantrax can support maximum games played by hitters. It's done on aggregate rather than by individual position but it would reduce lineup spamming. If a team hit the limit, they'd stop accumulating hitting stats the next day just like for pitchers.

A max games setting of 2106 (13 positions x 162) would have only affected rodg, Sparty and HellToupee this year. Rodg got a 3.8% advantage by aggressively managing his lineup.

I'm in favor of this because it'll improve competitive balance a little and would give RnR one less thing to whine about.

I vote yes on game limits.

Open to trade discussion as always. The 20 guys below are definitely protected, anyone else is available. Debating whether to go young or old with my last few spots.

Yes on max games

Yes on varying number of protected players but it may be too late for a change this season

Took a look at Van Slyke/Kendall . Not bad for 18

War—Kendall 41.7/AVS 41.3

AVS .274, .349 OPS .792
Kendall .288, .366 OPS .744

Gold glove —-AVS 5 Kendall O
Silver slugger— AVS 2 Kendall O

By my count, it's 5 in favor of max games with rodg12 opposed. Still need votes from RnR, umjake, Pik/Goat, cheese and whatever aliases NV and DD are using now

I think time is getting short to implement the varying number of protected players this year.

We're at 7-2 in favor of maximum games for hitters with UMJake, Pik/Goat, and Cheese yet to chime in.

I think we've run out of time to do varying keepers this year but it's on the table for implementation in year 19.

I counted only two in favor of adding IL slots.

Jake voted yes a couple posts up. I don't know if that makes it 8-2 or if you meant to list someone else who hasn't voted.

I'm a yes on varying keepers for next year.

That's 9 votes in favor, 2 opposed and Pik/Goat not voting. It's either 75% or 66%+1 so it passes. What's a constitution anyways?

Official: League rules changed to 2106 game maximum for all hitters. This will work like the IP limits for pitchers; hitting stats will stop accumulating the day after the maximum is reached.
