Winning IS Everything

Calvin Johnson will start and go deep into the second, Marshawn Lynch will start for Buffalo this week and Peterson will likely get a lot of time this week too. This could be a nice week to watch the rookies!
Edit to add the link about Lynch starting.

Several Lions to be held out of Saturday night's exhibition
August 17, 2007
Several Lions regulars will be held out of Saturday night’s exhibition at Cleveland because of minor injuries: defensive end Kalimba Edwards (ankle), wide receiver Mike Furrey (knee), wide receiver Roy Williams (hamstring), kicker Jason Hanson (hamstring), defensive end Dewayne White (groin) and linebacker Teddy Lehman.
Linebackers Anthony Cannon (quad) and Joe Lobendahn are questionable. Defensive tackle Shaun Rogers (knee), running back Kevin Jones (foot) and wide receiver Devale Ellis (knee) remain on the physically unable to perform list.
Coach Rod Marinelli said the first-team offense was scheduled to play deep into the second quarter. If the unit doesn’t get enough work, it could go to the half. Calvin Johnson, the second overall pick of this year’s NFL draft, and Shaun McDonald will start at wide receiver. J.T. O’Sullivan will come in after Jon Kitna at quarterback. Dan Orlovsky will finish the game.
The first-team defense is also scheduled to go deep into the second quarter. But if it gets a lot of work early, it could come out earlier. Rookie Ikaika Alama-Francis will start at right defensive end.
“I just want to see him get under pressure, feel it, see what it’s like, see how he reacts,” Marinelli said.

RB Lynch To Get Starting Nod

Buffalo Bills RN Marshawn Lynch is expected to start Friday night against the Falcons. "Right now we'd like to see more of Marshawn so to ensure that we're thinking of putting him out there with that first group and see how he looks," HC **** Jauron said. Lynch only appeared in seven plays last week and had just two carries for three yards. "It's going to be my first home game and I'm real excited about that," said Lynch. "I got some action last week and this week I'm looking to get a little more so I'm excited about that as well."
