Seymour out for season *RUMOR* (1 Viewer)

Locan radio in Boston has said that pro football weekly is repoorting that Richard Seymour is out for the year. PFW website says nothing, nor do other major outlets. Has anyone heard anything to confirm?

Edited to say: worsening/complications of his ongoing knee issues

He's already on the PUP and NE has a bye in Week 10, so he's missing half the fantasy season. The New England papers are reporting "unconfirmed" sources that he could be out longer, but that source could very well be PFW. It's not like anyone will ever get legitimate confirmation on something like this from the organization, so whatever further updates comes out needs to be taken with a grain of salt. Fortunately, Seymour has had significant fantasy relevance for all but the deepest leagues in about four years, so it shouldn't matter to many.

Agree. I think the primary IDP concern may be what happens to the surrounding cast along the front seven, i.e. Green, Warren, Thomas, Vrabel, Bruschi/Seau.

Is there anychance that Thomas takes over that role on passing downs... hes about the same size and has a lot of experience going after the QB. And that were to become the case; it would it hurt or help his FF value.

I would believe that Jarvis Green would be the player who would most benefit from any kind of absence on Seymours part.He was a decent scorer in a part time situation last year.

Nothing new to add, but I do agree that this is Green's big chance. They might be feeling the loss (death) of Marquis Hill during this time. He hadn't done anything up to this point, but all signs pointed to him getting more regular time in the rotation.

I think you should be more concerned about your own defense than the Pats. ;)

Who are you tellin'?They certainly will need to get the ball in the endzone a lot to stay in any games this year.
