SF 49ers Defense : Who won/lost this week thanks to them (1 Viewer)

When was the last time a team had 3 DTDs?

Sick line thus far... Int, 2 DFR, 4 SACK, 3 DFTD (23,0,11), 108 PaYdA, 83 RuYdA

Seems like the "play D against the inept Rams" is a great strategy this year. :goodposting:

never will under stand why FF leagues use team DEF.

They are helping me to a win. I benched NYJ and picked them up to start for me this week based on matchup. This is SWEET.

 
Looks like I am gonna survive by just over 1 pt against them.

Seems like the Lambs were just giving them pts.

 
I'm still beating the guy but they put up 50pts in my league as well....i think its pretty much a record.

 
Helping me win a must win game....up by 17 with LT to go for me vs ADP for opponent....with ADP still left anything is possible though but I like my chances if LT gives me 15 pts....I hope my #1 pick can finally deliver tonight....1 TD will do the trick

 
The Saints were about 5 yards shy of having 3 defensive TDs today. Randall Gay picked one off at the end of the game and took it down to the 5 yard line. One block and the Saints would have had 4 sacks, 3 INTs and 3 TDs. Some pretty crazy team defense scores today.

 
I faced Garrard, SF DT, Steve Smith, Pierre and Megatron in one league. Needless to say, the niners helped smoke me. Don't know that I've ever been whipped this hard

Yep...Saints kicked my ### in one league....2 TDs, 4 turnovers, 4 sacks
 
Needed a waiver wire defense, and I was torn between the Niners and my beloved Bengals.

Won me the game. They scored 42 points for me while the rest of my team underachieved. On the flip side I was destroying another team and they had the 49ers defense. I'm still ahead by 5 points with Rodgers and Jennings to go while he has Holmes.

:hey: Hopefully, they'll fix it by the end of this week's match-ups. I'll need those points to help establish my league's new high score for the season (so far, of course). Highest single weekly score of the season = :goodposting:

At one point this afternoon it looked as if I was wafflecrushing my opponent (My Wr's for the week are Steve Smith (NYG), Mike Sims-Walker, and Reggie Wayne. After a crappy day for Brees, and thanks in large part to my opponent starting the 49ers DEF, my game is now pretty much un-winnable. Blech.
 
picked up the 49ers def in wk 3 because of the eagles wk 4 bye. i dropped wr-s.rice. wow. i was expecting solid production but nothing like this. in my fantasyheadquarters league, they scored 39 pts.

i'm down by 7 pts w/ mendenhall, a.rodgers, and kaeding left. all his players have played.

 
I was getting crushed because i decided to start Benson/McFadden in place of banged up Kevin Smith/Portis but the SF D came up big and now I'm pretty sure I'll win the week unless something goes spectacularly wrong tomorrow.

PS. This reaffirms my strategy to never draft kickers/D in leagues with no limit on moves and pick them up week-to-week.

Same for me. This always seems to happen with them. They better fix it, as I have them in two leagues and both matchups are close.

they usually make these adjustments overnight . . . check in the morning . . .
 
So whats the plan now fellas? Are you guys holding onto the Niners, or dropping them for the sweet match-up (Cowboys @ Chiefs...Bills vs. Browns) in Week 5?

Personally, I grabbed the NYJ defense this week after the owner dropped them because of their match-up. I plan to hold onto the Niners D, but not play them in Week 5.

gotta keep em; they have some very good/great players on that side of the field (Willis, Clements, Lawson, etc) . . . maybe this the start of a something big . . .
 
There is no way I can come back after them this week unless Donald Driver scores about 10 TDs and saves an entire family from a burning building. 39 points in my league :goodposting:

 
SF Defense scored the second most individual points in the history of my league...right after Portis' legendary 200 yard rushing, 5 TD performance from a few years ago.

 
41 pts for me.

Saved my butt from whatever it was that happened in Houston that caused the Raiders to barely play McFadden.

McFadden's not starting again for me until the Raiders show they can do something.

 
I'm actually probably going to lose and I had 49ers. Started DMC and Hester. I'm up 22 points and opponent has AP, Harvin, and GB defense playing tomorrow night. And I'm gonna be 0-4 after starting Garrard over Schaub, starting DMC week 3 and losing by 2 points, and starting DMC again.

i did and im pissed. i had great team management today and there was nothing i could do. started rice, harrison ronnie brown, vutler, derek anderson, and clark and still lost. 40 points for SF today. FML

The Saints are the only reason I'm not getting massacred in the league I faced the Niners. The Niners had 61.5 points, while the Saints put up 48. I'm still probably going to lose, but I can't really cry about it given the way New Orleans stepped up this week.
 
I would have won without the Niners Def but they, along with Rivers, Mendenhall and Sims-Walker helped get my highest score ever of 179.66.

It's not a win/loss situation, but in the Anarchy Leagues run by Yudkin, I had SF and Houston put up a combined 80 pts. (it's cumulative score and both count towards the total).

By comparison, that outscored 13 other teams' year to date Defensive totals.

 
In both of my leagues where we play team defense, I had both the 49ers and the Broncos having picked up the Niners after week 3 to play them this week.

At the last min I decided to play the Broncos defense instead...............but I've somehow still managed to squeeze out a W in both leagues.

 
Played against them and lost....decisively.

The irony is that the owner who picked them up reminded me of a game I played against him back in 2005 when I picked up SF D/ST to go against Arizona in a game in Mexico City. He had a 16 point lead in that game with only my SF D/ST left. They scored 17. Ultimately cost him a playoff spot. He never got over it. I guess he's at peace now.

 
You guys see SF/D as anything more than a great one week plug if you have another good D(PHI)? I think I'm about to drop them and be happy with a great week as Celek is on my WW and need a Gates replacement next week.

 
They put me over the top this week. I benched Pittsburgh Defense for them this week because SF was playing the Rams. Back to Pitt this week vs. DET but I'm not dropping SF yet because Pitt's not done much for me so far...
