Shady's pro day results? (1 Viewer)

His numbers look good with the exception of vert 29" and broad jump of 8' 11"

Was there some circumstance that caused these to be low that I am forgetting? Given what I'm reading in various draft prospect evaluation posts concerning numbers like this I am quite shocked?

haha yes, LeSean McCoy is the shady I refer to and it is obviously a historical review not current in case that too was not clear.

IIRC, he was sick when he participated in the combine. I remember some of the low numbers being attributed to being sick of some ailment?

I was actually hoping for some reasonable discussion concerning production and the predictive (or otherwise) power of combine type numbers. I'm seeing all kinds of references by lots of folks most notably EBF concerning specific ranges for 40 times, size, vert, broad jump etc... Since we know Shady to be a top producer, I thought these workout numbers looked pretty odd.

May shed some light...
that explains it although I kind of wonder why he didn't run again later when he was well. didn't seem to hurt his draft stock though

Didn't he just get smoked in the 40 by Vick last year? RBs can get by with moderate measurables if they've got the intangibles (and/or offensive line and/or system).

Shady's best attribute is his vision/cutback ability. His is superior to most at his position, thus making his speed (although above average) not as important. Agility is off the charts, as most know, which is not as easily as measurable.
