I like Shanny as the choice. Then again, I liked Marty Schottenheimer and Norv Turner, too. The difference is I think Daniel Snyder has finally gotten the memo that he needs a strong GM in place who can act as a foil for Snyder's good intentions by giving him experience, smart planning to achieve this organization's goals and act as a strong buffer/leader between owners, coaches, and players.
They have some defensive talent and the offense is in transition between old guys who can't stay healthy and young guys with talent still learning the ropes. I think this is a good fit because the offense will get better under Shanny and the fact he'll be coaching under a GM he respects will solidify the infrastructure of this team for a while and that gives them some promise in the NFC East.
I like the move IF they bring in one of the personnel guys they were considering a couple weeks ago. I forget their names --- one works for the Ravens, one works for the Bears and used to work for the Redskins, and the third I don't remember at all.

Zorn has never been an OC. He was hired as the OC in Washington after Gibbs retired, but was promoted to HC a week or so after. He was the QB coach in Seattle.
