Shannahan says Scheffler & Young will "suit up" Thursday (1 Viewer)

I take suit up to mean they will play, but not necessarily start or play a full complement of snaps. I'd be pretty comfortable with Scheffler in this match up if I had Witten or Cooley on bye.

I have Scheffler and I am not comfortable, "suit up" is just another way of saying game time decision.

I disagree. I have Cooley and Scheff and this sounds like GTD to me.

I guess what I meant to say is I'd rather get Scheffler and hope he plays than pick someone else up and hope he's productive. I can't imagine there are TE's in any league available with even half the upside Scheffler has.

Or he could be like McGahee last week and actually "suit up" but then never play a down.

They all say they are fine..just like Steve Jackson did last week...results!

I have Whiten and have no choice but to play Scheffler. Last week he was a GTD too...but I think he was held out knowing they would have an early start this week. I thnk he goes.

There's another post about DEN's injury report floating around here (read it last night). Basically if Sheff "PARTIALLY" practices vs. "in full" - he's worthless. So check that and the post for details. If he's "full" practice you should be OK. Still there's Nate Jackson, Graham, in addition to Hillis, Brandon, Eddie, Stokely?, Djax... I'm sitting him for Fasano - or maybe Celek if LJ has any issues. Partly b/c I already have Cutler and Marshall (along w/ Braylon) and don't want almost half my team in one game - especially on a short week. He'll need to put up one good game before I'll roll the dice.

 I traded away Tony G to get him(was the trade off to upgrade from romo to cutler after the injury) and was shooting for this week as a return but im going to sit him for one more week. He should be back to full health next week barring any setbacks tonight. I would rather him sit the whole game actually then have another setback. One more strain to his groin and he is done for the fantasy calendar I would assume.

For week 9 there was a report that said Scheffler could go if he had to. I feel a little better starting him this week because I think they need him....and the fact I have no choice.

I thought the same thing a few weeks ago when Scheff was questionable, I almost picked up Zach Miller and put him in but decided not to because I didn't want to drop anyone on my roster. I lost by less than 3 poits that week, guess how many points Miller got?

That is what I am afraid of this week. I have a big game and have been holding on to Scheff for Cooley's bye but I think I will end up dropping him and picking up TE that will at least start this week. Scheff's inability to stay healthy is getting pretty annoying considering how productive he is when he does get on the field.

2?

I have to start Torain based on byes. I don't know what to expect. I would think Young would be the guy if he played, but he is hurt and hasn't really taken the spot. I don't think Hillis is going to get alot of carries. He may be involved in the passing game again. The big question is whether Torain can pass block. I would be more than happy with 50 yards and a td from the guy.

I highly doubt in most leagues a guy like Z. Miller is on waivers. He's an every week starter in my league. I'm guessing most waiver TE's are guys like Justin Peelle and Alex Smith. On the Young side, I think Torain makes for a decent start this week, though I don't expect 20 carries whether Young plays or not.

Seems very risky to start Scheffler. I'm leaning towards Desmond Clark (been getting the ball, playing a good defense that may lead to shorter routes ) or Keller (vs STL) over Scheff

I just dropped him for Boss. Then again, I just watched Oakland's offense first hand. But really, in my PPR, he was average at best FF.

Every week starter with one TD all season?

Just picked him up - Scheffler hurt and Cooley on BYE.

Not saying he should be an every week starter, but he's a top-10ish option. I guess in really thin leagues he could be available. For what its worth, I think he's better than Boss.I'm hoping with Young going that we'll learn the same for Scheffler.
