Shark Pool Board Mock Draft - Version 1 (1 Viewer)

So, one of Kalil or Penn could play right tackle. If you need a tackle, and the best prospect at the position in years is available at #5, you draft him and worry about right or left later.
It's the same net effect. The point is tackle is one of their lowest needs.
Totally disagree. Trueblood is a bum. Kalil could step in right away at right tackle or Penn could move over.Tackle is a bigger hole than RB, and it's a more premier position. You've already said you are biased because you want Kalil to fall. They would take Kalil here. Now, if the Vikings made them a nice offer to swap picks, they would probably listen....

SO you take Kalil because the right tackle spot is weak? That's not how it goes.

1. I do not see them going Richardson here that is just me. They have much more holes than at RB.

2. I also agree and do not see Kalil slipping out of the top 5.

No way Bucs pass Kalil if it actually happens like this. Otherwise Jax, Panthers, etc will give up something to move up there.

This is an interesting situation. This is probably a good example of why the Vikings will not trade down. They need Kalil and can't risk missing him.

It also shows that if the Bucs miss on Claiborne they might be good candidates to trade down.

Again I think that's wrong. They'd rather have Reily Reiff and an extra first than they would just Kalil.

Most don't project richardson till 10 or later.
Most who?
I must agree with Andy Dufresne here. Richardson would be a fine pick. Blount is nothing special and it showed this year.
You are right Blount did not show much at all but it is more of a fact they have much more pressing needs than RB and the fact that Matt Kalil could fall out of the top 5 I just can not see them passing him if he were there.options that I can see happening hereTake Kalil..Trade down.........Take Richardson

I disagree. The Bucs offense took a huge step back this year and I would argue that's because Blount was not very good this year. Richardson could do for the Bucs what Peterson did for the Vikings when he was drafted. That is give the Bucs a offensive weapon they desperatly need to take pressure off the passing game.

Boy I don't know about that Washington/Minnesota trade. That's a lot to give up for RG3.I just read that Shanahan may be very interested in bringing in Matt Flynn.
That doesn't seem like a good fit. Isn't the Washington scheme a bit more downfield than Flynn's skills would match up with?
Citing sources inside the organization, ESPN 980 Washington's Chris Russell reports the Redskins are "very interested" in free agent QB Matt Flynn.ESPN's Mel Kiper told reporters earlier in the day that "grapevine" talk suggested the Redskins didn't have a high opinion of Flynn. Russell knows "for sure," though, that coach Mike Shanahan and OC Kyle Shanahan had a "detailed conversation" two weeks ago on Flynn's six-touchdown, 480-yard performance against the Lions in the regular season finale. Whereas Charley Casserly suggested Flynn wouldn't be a good fit for the Redskins offense, one team source tells Russell the two systems are "almost the same."

Ehh I disagree I guess. Blount is a back built to pound out yardage when teams are in front ala Fat slow Mike Turner (god I hate him). When his team is losing he is rendured relatively useless. Most of their problems this year were because they were down consistantly and had no passing game or OL to bring them back into games which rendered the run game useless. I do not think Blount is good myself but I also do not think Richardson would be the pick here especially when u can get a really solid back at the top of the 2nd.

Isn't Kalil supposed to be a potential stud LT of the future? Why would you ever pick a RB with the 5th overall if there's a LT there who is head and shoulders above all other tackles in the draft.

I'll be pretty shocked if Kalil drops to 6th overall in the real draft.

Because the idea is to make your team better.

Kalil won't make the Bucs better?
Not as much as Richardson would, no.

This is a similar (note I said similar, not same) situation as when the Cardinals took Levi Brown over Adrian Peterson.

They needed a left tackle and had a pretty good RB in Edgerrin James that they'd just signed. That didn't work out so well.
