Shark Pool Mock Draft 2.0 (1 Viewer)

With the 93rd pick of the 2010 NFL Draft the Minnesota Vikings select......Joe Mcknight RB USC
I like the idea of a RB. Not sure if I like McKnight.
I think he was held back alot because of injuries and has yet to really come into his own. He has a nice burst and is a good pass catcher out of the backfield. I think he would fill the loss of Chester Taylor and become a nice 3rd down RB.
 I think McKnight could be a good 3rd down back and that's all he'd be asked to do in this offense. Really like what you did in this draft for the Vikes Gatekeeper! We can only hope it goes this way in the real draft.

94th pick - Colts take Jason Worilds DE, Va TechA rotation style DE who can get around the corner. Has a combination of moves he can use against Tackles, plus a good burst getting upfield. Not great against the run, but that isn't what the Colts ask their DEs to do. I looked at a Corner back here, but I think the Colts rely on their pass rush as their main defense against the pass. They need some depth at DE to keep everyone fresh and protect against injury.
I believe he was selected by the panthers.....

Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe I missed my pick. i meant to only be away for an hour and it turned into about 3. Thanks for filling in for me guys and sorry if I held you up.

I was going the same position, safety, except I was going with "Myron Rolle"

Colts Ended up with

1.31 - Bruce Campbell OT Maryland - Obviously a great athelete, and was a dominant run blocker in college. Pass blocking still an unknown, but will help the Colt be able to pick up 3 and 1 or 3 and 2 on the ground. May be unfairly smeared by the associations with the Raiders early in the draft. Everyone the touch is tainted. The other player I considered was Everson Griffin to help with Pass Rush depth

2.31 - Cam Thomas DT UNC - Best Run stuffer left at this point. Main job will be to play 1-2 down and take up blockers. The Colts like to let their DE play wide and get upfield, Thomas can play two gaps against a G or Take on and Controll a double team from a Gaurd/Center. Not their typical style DT, but can fill a roll no one else on their team can. I considered Arthur Jones DT from Syracuse, but I thought he was too similar to other players they have. I also considered Jerome Murphy, who I think will be good in a cover 2 zone type system.

3.31 - Jason Worilds DE Va Tech - Situational pass rusher, variety of moves, has some burst off the corner. Similar to other players the colts have, but gives them depth at thier most important position. I also considered Amari Spievey to help at CB, and Jermaine Cunningham DE from Florida. I probably should have taken Spievey, as he would have played more than Worilds, but I have an unreasonabley optimistic view of undersized Va Tech DEs. I don't know how it started, nor how to fix it.

3.31 - Amari Spievey CB Iowa - CB Depth a concern for the Colts. I think Spievey is the last of a tier of players at that position. Plays the run well, and is a better zone corner than a Man corner which fits the Colts style.

Sorry, I must have mispelled his name searching. The Colts take Amari Spievey CB Iowa.

Love the kid and think some team's going to get a steal with him.

Bucs ended up with:

1. Gerald McCoy - Easiest choice in the draft

2a. Arrellious Benn - Huge upgrade for a very poor WR Corps

2b. Devin McCourty - Adds depth at corner and will start once Ronde retires.

3. Dexter McCluster - Offers a homerun threat from anywhere on the field and gives TB a different option on offense.

I'd like to think that if Tampa left the first 3 rounds with those guys they'd be relatively happy. Just need to improve OL and Pass rush in the remaining rounds.

Regarding the Bills pick...Fred Jackson is 29 and they would love to get rid of Lynch (IMO). Thus I think this would be a good spot for Toby Gerhart to land. :lmao:
But the fact remains that they have two viable RBs and only one WR. Their special teams lost them at least one game last year (ahem, NE).
Didn't Gailey also mention he wants a little runningback (I believe the term was a "waterbug".) Gerhart certainly wouldn't fill that bill.
Always take the words of a coach with a grain of salt, especially at this time of year. But you're right he did say that. Also, in regards to the WR situation, are they not expecting to get anything out of James Hardy?
No offense, but whoever made the Gilliard pick must not know the Bills situation very well. I would think that would be a terrible pick for the Bills if they actaully made it on draft day. We need to get instant starters out of our first 3 rounds and Gilliard won't help our team at all especially seeing that we wouldn't even need him for our return game. Gailey did mention that they are looking for a smaller scat back and with McCluster gone there really isn't a RB that fits that style worthy of this pick. We could possibly draft Joe McKnight here but not sure if he would be more important than a D player. We're switching to the 3-4 D and not only do not have starters but we don't even have decent depth at certain positions. It sucks with Aurthur Jones going right before us because he would have been a great pick. But we still need to find someone who can possibly even start from the beginning at NT. We currently don't have anyone who can play the Nose. We also could use a 3-4 OLB to play opposite of Maybin. We don't really have anyone to play that even if Schoebel doesn't retire. And like I said, I don't mean to be critical of whoever made that Bills pick (sorry, I was at track practice), but there were other options that made much more sense.
 Norwood should have been the pick here. He's going to be a very good 3/4 outside LB.

OK, who's up? Let's finish this thing tonight....Who should the Saints take?
I'm done offering up an opinion after being chastised for suggesting Gilyard for the Bills. Heaven forbid they get a playmaker on that horrible offense who can also be an upgrade at KR/PR (which lost them at least one game last year -- remember NE?)I'm ready to roll when the Saints pick comes in though.

FWIW, I like the Gilyard pick......They can always wait another year for Hardy...

Thank you sir. I really like Mcknight and I think he would be great in our offense. He has 4.4 speed and catches the ball really well out of the backfield. He doesnt block like Chester but not many do. Mcknight had to share time in college the whole time he was there and had some injuries that slowed him down or I think he would have put up some monster numbers at USC. I really wanted McCluster or Mcknight in the 3rd round. I like the way this draft went.

Titans select Eric Decker, WR Minnesota

I copied this from NFL.com

Decker is a big receiver with small receiver skills. He is quicker than he is fast and while he has enough speed he is not the type that will take many all the way to the house at the next level. He runs crisp routes and will show a good short burst to separate from defenders but will struggle to maintain that separation. He is a natural receiver that has soft, sure hands and a wide receiving radius that allows him to extend to catch slightly off target throws. He missed the final four games of the regular season due to a foot injury but returned in time to play in the bowl game against Iowa State.

Decker seems like a good, smart kid, that would be a great help to the Titans offense. The passing game needs a boost and I think Decker will bring an excellent work ethic and toughness to the team. Since Vince will be throwing him the ball, the above in bold will be important. He can play the slot or out wide. Hopefully he will fully recover from his injury and be good to go by the start of the season.

Hopefully we can find a LB in round 4

Rd 1: Derrick Morgan DE

Rd 3: Javier Arenas CB/KR/PR

Rd 3: Eric Decker WR

will PM next

I am going to take heat for this but I have to say it. McKnight, IMO, is very similar to Percy Harvin - height, weight, receiving ability and kick return skills. Darius Reynaud has been moved to RB and he is also a RB/WR tweener. I think McKnight would be a steal for any team at this position in the draft except maybe the Vikings. Vikings need a guy capable of doing 1st and 2nd down carries in the event ADP gets injured.

Just a thought - am I the only one very surprised Gronkowski didn't go in this mock? I know he had an injury, but still, he's a second day pick, right?

It all depends on how teams feel about his back injury. Missing a whole season doesn't do much for a guy's draft stock, even if the injury appears healed.

I was expecting him to get taken with one of the Cardinals 3rds.
I did think about it.
