Shaun Hill may be back week 15 (1 Viewer)

Tom Kowalski of MLive.com reports that Shaun Hill (broken finger) may have a realistic chance to start against the Bucs in Week 15.

According to Kowalski, Hill's availability will depend on his ability to throw with "zip and accuracy" throughout the practice week. It sounds like the Lions would even be willing to trot out Hill at less than 100 percent at Tampa Bay. Hill reportedly made some hard throws when the media wasn't watching during Wednesday's return to practice. His return to game action would be good news for Calvin Johnson and the rest of the offense. Dec. 15 - 2:43 pm et

Selfishly concerned about this as a CJ owner, not a Hill owner. I would feel much more comfortable with CJ if Hill were back then Stanton.

Heard a story on the radio about this, and they were saying that Hill would play if he could figure out how to throw the ball without putting as much pressure on the fingertip when he threw it. Apparently, he had a similar injury when he played with SF and played through it, so he did it before.

I don't know what his stats looked like then, but I would think that it would affect the velocity and accuracy of his passes if he does play, and would make him a very risky start.

I don't see how the Bucs stop CJ without Talib...unless the QB play is terrible. Less QB pressure after losing McCoy won't help.

Lions | Shaun Hill working on new delivery Published Thu Dec 16 12:19:07 p.m. ET 2010

(KFFL) Detroit Lions QB Shaun Hill (finger) has been working on a throwing delivery where he leaves his broken finger off the ball while making throws, reports Dave Birkett, of the Detroit Free Press. Hill was rusty while throwing during practice Wednesday, Dec. 15, but said he will increase his reps during the week and hopes to start in Week 15.

My selfish concern is Week 16 & 17. Does it sound like he'll be back for those games if they are thinking he might come back Week 15?

I have Brees and Brady and my fear is that they will secure their playoff spot and then sit the final two weeks. I am considering picking up Hill, Collins, or Campbell to hold on to just in case.

Uhhh...so we go from looking like a starter and #3 on the FBG QB rankings to this:

Detroit Lions QB Shaun Hill (finger) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 17, and is listed as questionable for Week 15, reports Dave Birkett, of the Detroit Free Press. QB Drew Stanton is expected to start but the team has not named a starter for the game.

Any update on this? If Shaun Hill doesn't start for me it's Sanchez or Flynn! I'm thinking of dropping him and stashing Tebow for week 16.

Lions coach Jim Schwartz said a decision on who the team will start at quarterback in Week 16 might not come until Sunday.

Shaun Hill is still recovering from a broken finger but was well enough to serve as the backup in Week 15. Drew Stanton suffered a Grade 3 separation of his left (non-throwing) shoulder but could be able to play through the injury. Stafford is not on I.R. yet but isn't expected back this week. Even though Stanton has led the Lions to back-to-back wins, we're betting on Hill getting the call if he's healthy enough to go. Neither are desirable fantasy option against a Dolphins team that ranks sixth against the pass. Dec. 21 - 9:50 am et
