Shipp Out 2-3 Months . . . May Be Out All Year (1 Viewer)

so much for keeping him in place of my 8th round pick this year. i was already pretty "iffy" about it but this put the icing on the cake. good thing im keeping m. bennett in place of my 10th rounder

Anyone with a real link? Message board chatter doesn't prove much of anything. (Unless of course, it's our board and then it irrefutable. ;) I've searched all over and came up with nothing so far.

Me too, but I'd bet those folks on the message board got it from local Phoenix sports radio or news broadcasts.
Maybe, but wouldn't something like this warrent being on the National sports news? At least during the breaks they take to cover top stories.

This looks to be very late breaking though. It took that Boston injury quite a while to get to ESPN.

Taylor's history is not looking good for you right about now :rotflmao:

Per Denny Green on Shipp:Bone did not break the skin. Nothing Broken, just dislocated. Best case scenario, Shipp out for 8 weeks. Hope for the best at this point.

Not doubting this outright, but I've seen absolutely nothing on this, other than that post on a message board...And nothing at KFFL, ESPN, NFL.com, or anything...

I looked on espn, and a few other fantasy football sites with no mention of this injury. I'll believe it when I see it on something more solid then an Arizona Cardinals message board.

My friend at work writes for that website. I can vouch for its integrity. Also, the Arizona Republic's web site is terrible. They don't update it dynamically. They generally update it once a day to keep in step with the print edition. I imagine you'll see a Shipp article up by early tomorrow morning.Time to add Josh Scobey to your deep sleeper list.

My No Mercy Team is having a dead pool situation at RB:

Ricky Williams - retired

Domanick Davis

Marcel Shipp - injured

Lee Suggs

If I was a Domanick Davis or Lee Suggs owner, I'd be very concerned right now.

exactly

The people who think this might somehow be a hoax will be disappointed. You don't start a rumor about MARCEL SHIPP being out for the year. You shoot for the moon and announce that Priest Holmes is out for the year. :P

I'm not calling shenanigans here but I can't believe this wouldn't be on the news wires...no sign of it on Google News, KFFL, ESPN, or the Blogger. If this happened in practice, why no mention of it on these sites?

I called KNXV ABC TV in Phoenix. This is a TRUE story. Dislocation in his left foot. Will be out a minimum of 8 weeks. Could be more after further tests/xrays/rehab.

Ooops...could this have happened during tonight's Red and White scrimmage in Flagstaff? If so, that would make sense as we wouldn't hear about this until the a.m...that is anywhere but this board.

Alright...I hate rumors and whatnot, but I can't believe Denny will go into the season with Emmitt and no one else. Dennis's son is the Director of Player Personnel in Cleveland...maybe a trade for William Green if he doesn't win the job from Suggs?

Paging James Stewart...please report to Arizona for a workout.

Who'll be taking the starting job away from ESmith now. Scobey or Anderson? Or do they pick up another back?

? Not sure where that's getting at... Just saying that its not all that credible of a source if they reported that the Giants signed Mack if it never happened.

Arizona Cardinals RB Marcel Shipp dislocated his left ankle during an intrasquad scrimmage Friday night and is expected to be sidelined for 8-12 weeks. Shipp got caught underneath a pile during a routine running play and got his left leg wrenched in the artificial turf at Northern Arizona University's Skydome. After several minutes on the turf, Shipp was loaded on a cart and led off the field. The injury was not as bad as it initially appeared to be, said Cardinals coach Dennis Green. "It did not break through the skin, which means it probably does not need an operation," Green said. In the offseason, Green named Emmitt Smith the starter at running back. But with the 35-year-old Smith's durability a question mark, Shipp was expected to see plenty of carries this season.

Shipp led the Cardinals with 830 yards rushing last year, including games of 165 and 141 yards. "He took a bad spill and it don't look good right now," Smith said of Shipp. "But he's young and resilient and he's in great shape. "I've been on football fields for a long time and I've seen some bad things happen, but not many to people I've been close to. The kid is a like a brother to me," added Smith. "Watching him go down is like watching a brother go down. It hurts." With Shipp's injury, Damien Anderson now moves up on the depth chart.

Josh Scobey = speed
Actualy, Scooby does = speed......Through the hole. However, the guy can't cut to save his life. In college he would almost come to a complete stop to make a cut back. He could never get outside the corner as he would run out there, and then almost stop completely to turn back up the field. But he can hit the hole lighting fast, he is built like a brick, makes his yards after contact, and can carry defenders with him as he moves forward. Powerful true North-South runner.Nice to see that Denny Green has a new Leroy Hoard, I loved Leroy. ;)Edited to add: Now that I think about it, wouldn't Damien Anderson be the better fit anyway?

Actually, that makes Shipp a nice value pick for upcoming redrafts.
Maybe, if you have a 36 round draft. The guy could miss 12 games, and then there's no guarantee that he'll be 100%, or that he'll get playing time even if he is near 100%.Pasadena.
