Patten out too?I hope Meacham gets more involved in the passing game....Patten may be out as well.

Probably removing some of the wuss's plumbing. All-time over-rated bum.3-6 for a hernia? Dan Campbell only missed 1 week with his. What's wrong with Shockey?
apology accepted I don't know if I told you, personally, but I was very concerned about this when the Saints traded for ShockeyTo those who tried to tell me that Jeremy Shockey was an injury prone player...I apologize.Fike.
I guess he is, by default.Billy Miller (receiving TE)starter?
They vary with severity. I get to take my brother for this surgery tomorrow, now he has company. In all seriousness, this is a shot for the Saints. I wonder how much they can sustain before slowing down offensively.3-6 for a hernia? Dan Campbell only missed 1 week with his. What's wrong with Shockey?
This summer - and I wish I could find the link on my site - I had heard from a VERY reliable contact within the Saints organization that Payton had called Miller over the summer to tell him that he was an important part of the team and that they were 'goign to get him 40-50 catches this year'.This was before the Shockey trade came back on the table and happened. By all accounts, Miller was happy to take a back seat to Shockey as he felt the acquisition brought the Saints that much closer to a Super Bowl. When that happened, I of course downgraded any thought Miller would see 40 targets much less catches. With Shockey gone, I thought it worth bringing it up again - Payton thinks pretty highly of Miller and while Mark Campbell will get some looks, Miller is a better pass catcher IMO. So I would keep him on your radar. All things being equal I am not sure WHO Brees goes to in the pass game not named Bush.Billy Miller (receiving TE)starter?
I'd go for Billy Miller over any of those guys. I guess Royal if I had to choose one of those you listed. At least he has shown a little something this year.Other Shockey owners - what kinds of TEs are you looking at on the WW to replace Shockey? Do you think Jerramy Stevens is the real deal? Shiancoe? Royal? It's slim pickin's out there for TEs right now.
I thought I read somewhere were Jeremy Stevens is suspended for two games.Other Shockey owners - what kinds of TEs are you looking at on the WW to replace Shockey? Do you think Jerramy Stevens is the real deal? Shiancoe? Royal? It's slim pickin's out there for TEs right now.
1st 2 games. I'd take him, and did in 2 leagues, over any of those listed.I thought I read somewhere were Jeremy Stevens is suspended for two games.Other Shockey owners - what kinds of TEs are you looking at on the WW to replace Shockey? Not injury prone, just prone to being ignored.Shockey = Useless. I'm seriously considering dropping him this week if I can't trade him.I guess its time for my other injury prone TE to step up: Vernon Davis. Yikes
Stevens just had a big game his first game back from SuspensionI thought I read somewhere were Jeremy Stevens is suspended for two games.Other Shockey owners - what kinds of TEs are you looking at on the WW to replace Shockey? How do you NOT run a ton of 2 back sets with Bush and Pierre Thomas at this point? That's what I'd do more often if I were the coach... Have both a inside runner and a flexible playmaker in on most downs.Reggie Bush might catch 100 passes this year...
Yeah, just read that he returned. Billy's always been "pretty good" he's just not often the best/starterI'd go for Billy Miller over any of those guys. I guess Royal if I had to choose one of those you listed. it'll be fascinating if he does well. He looked good as a young TE with the Texans 5? years ago when we were still interested in former Bronco Tight Ends for FF. I mean someone's reading this going "oh yeah that guy, that was him? heh"He dwindled off into no man's land and...now he's (maybe) backhe was cut from the Saints recently and IIRC signed just before this last gameI guess he is, by default.Billy Miller (receiving TE)starter?
Yeah, moved for some roster space as - from what I was told by a source - they had some defensive injuries. In that time, the Texans made a run at him too, but he waited the week, knowing the Saints would take him back and felt they had a better shot at a Super Bowl. Now that (my side note) has nearly ZIP to do with Fantasy football, but an interesting aside I thought.. But as usual Bri, you are right - he;s one of those guys I thought of several years ago as a TE who coudl break out but he just never did. Everything I saw and heard this summer BS (Before Shockey) said to me that he was goign to be a significant part of the offense. Could have been a motivational ploy by the coaches, maybe they really wanted to get him a lot more catches - once Shockey came, it all became irrelevant. I wonder now if he will get his shot - and if he will be able to step up for it.it'll be fascinating if he does well. He is the best passer in the game today. He threw for 400 some odd yards with a horrible WR corps. I'll give ya that they're effective, not unlike the Pats from a few years ago but...he's something special. Somehow Peyton, Brady, or Romo have always taken the spotlight when maybe it should have been his turn the last few years. He doesn't get enough love, he's excellentSurprised not much has been made of it but at this point, might have to start downgrading Brees. Not to say that Brees won't be able to find open WR's, but teams still had to worry about Shockey. Now, without Colston AND Shockey, unless a WR really steps up and becomes a legit threat, Brees may not be an every week must-start that he still is.
heh, I just knew someone would rememberBut as usual Bri, you are right - he;s one of those guys I thought of several years ago as a TE who coudl break out but he just never did.

Excellent info, the kind of post that makes the Shark pool great, thanks.Miller's on my watch list now. Um this is a tear in his esophogal wall. I think this is out of the "he's a #####" category.Shockey hurt?No way!
Well both guys have missed a game (not due to injury in either case) - Campbell didn't play this weekend (or had no catches) while Miller did, but was cut for week 2.Two weeks with Shockey is too much of a sample size to guess what happens without him, but according to the target sorter, Campbell has one more target than miller but less yards and catches.Campbell was a good pass receiving TE at Michigan. And I think he did decent as a Bill as well. This team is gonna be throwing a ton this year. If what u say of Miller is true, wonder why Campbell has been getting the targets? Though, that Campbell has been getting about even looks with Shockey in means that they both could see a significant amount of action.
